The sun sets over Crankworx and the flood lights turn on in the Boneyard. That can only mean one thing: the Ultimate Pump Track Challenge is about to start. This year we saw a new layout and a very technical course that riders could sink their teeth into. Returning champs Loron and Kintner found the young blood starting to give them a run for their money. With the crowd pumped, it's time to go racing.

 The riders did an amazing job, and the commentators too!
However between this course and the dual slalom course yesterday, I'm somehow disappointed with the courses. They're just not as interesting as in years past. I'd say they need more turns, and the dual slalom could have been a tad longer?
I'm not sure what's missing but for whatever reason I found them less interesting tracks. The racing on the other hand? I don't know how but every year everyone steps it up so much, this year it's been no different! Absolutely mental racing, loving it

 The course looked as if someone wanted to do a favor to BMX racers... Smile

 @WAKIdesigns: How do you mean?

 I'd love to see really steep rollers. I remember our local BMX track had one line on the last straight that you couldn't ride on a mountain bike without manualling as the chainrings would catch.

 @DarrellW: If anything, elite BMX racers will be lacking cornering skill to MTBers (and this track is as straight as it gets) but then you get Tomy Zula who... who everything! At the same time, pumptrack is much lesser of a workout than a SX BMX track so maybe BMX racers’ uber explosive physique doesn’t give them as much advantage as I imagined initially. The tiny differences in timing of pumps may be more important than how much power is put into them.
