Photos just can't do these whips justice, but they can look pretty cool! Here's a smorgasbord of shots from the Official Oceania Whip-Off Championships presented by SPANK last night. Great work to all the riders who battled the windy conditions, and a huge congratulations to Jackson Goldstone for taking home the win.
Kaos looking down at the wind chaos
16 year old Jackson Goldstone taking the win
Bernard Kerr flying over the crowd
A little close look at his bike, do you notice anything?
Kaos whipped his way into second place
Classic R-Dogg
Billy Meaclem looked more like he was on a moto. He took 3rd with this
One rider had a pretty gnarly crash, wishing him the best
It does. Jackson looks like a kid, especially standing next to Billy Meaclem. Great to see so much young talent, but makes me realize I'm old, tired, slow and nearly not as much fun now...
2 things observed in these pics; I’d love to see a pic of Jackson with a more impressive whip than that shot of kaos and also is it just because I’m on my phone or are all the pics out of focus ?
Probably just look slightly out of focus because it's shot in dark and the edges get slightly softer and they had to use slightly longer shutter speeds so it gets a bit blurry. Also the lens should be wide open so you dont get shallower depth of field so only a smaller part is in focus.
pics of whips are hard to take and be impressive, kinda like pics of 3's or bars. hopefully we will get a vid soon. any one know who went down? get well soon!
As much as we dont like the e stuff the industry will keep forcing it on us like weinstein at a movie casting.
Danny MacAskill has even released an edit on the new sc e bike. Fortunately its not as good as his regular stuff.
Was it because California declare a state of emergency over Covoid-19? Honest question as I’m not sure if the decision was before or after that. But I could see possibly their hand was forced. Its just a thought, I really don’t know. It’s my first year living in Cali and I was pretty bummed to learn that as well.
@tbmaddux: Ha, ha, Jackson has riding since the fall. Thanks for the link. Compared to his kindergarten video, I'm glad he now has better pedals and can lower his seat out of the way or he may have needed surgery by now...
