Ian Hylands

Coming to Pinkbike fresh off a season as team photographer for Trek World Racing, Ian shot all TWR North American events in 2010. In the past, he has worked as staff photographer for Decline Magazine and was in charge of photography for the "TwentySix" photo annual that H3 Publications produced in 2006 and 2007.

Hylands works closely with Red Bull throughout North America, having covered the Red Bull Rampage since 2003, as well as major events such as Crashed Ice, Air Race, and X-Fighters. In addition to his role as lead photog for many key endemics, Ian has worked on ad campaigns and helped create catalogue imagery for Trek, Fox Racing, Specialized, Scott, Maxxis, Race Face and Marzocchi to name a few. Ian Hylands’ images have been used in countless magazine articles and features around the world.

"After contributing to Pinkbike for several years and covering a bunch of events for them last season, I'm stoked to actually be a part of the team" said Hylands. "As the world news media continues to metamorphosize, Pinkbike is at the forefront, and I'm proud to be involved! It's awesome to have such an amazing outlet for my work and I look forward to helping improve the quality of the imagery based content on the site."

Ian's real good but certainly not the best in the field. Check out Blake Jorgenson and Sterling Lorence. I'd say there the best in the field of outdoor photographers.

Ive run into several MTB photog's and they were pretty much all stuck on themselves...I met Hylands once and he took time out of his day to give me advice no matter how stupid my questions were. Nothing but respect for the guy.

Some of them may take a bit of time to release, but you should see some subtle changes as well as some larger ones here on Pinkbike.
