Pinkbike Update: Buysell Filters, Now on Mobile

Howdy! It's Jake, product manager at Pinkbike. Like every good vacuum salesman, I've got a new and improved model, fresh out of the Pinkbike factory and available to you, today.

(Re-)Introducing. Search and Filters, now on Mobile.

Pinkbike’s BuySell has been the leading marketplace for mountain bikers looking to buy, sell, and trade mountain bikes, parts, and gear, as well as questionable paintball equipment. Part of what has made the BuySell so popular, and useful, is it’s powerful search and filtering. You can narrow down your search results to bikes with specific travel increments, shock spring rates, and by location.

Historically you've only been able to do the search and filtering on the desktop site. But, now all of those same features are available in a logical and intuitive fashion on these new-fangled mobile devices. My, how times are changing.

These new features are exclusively available to riders who own bikes with headset cable routing, but come to you for the low monthly price of absolutely free.

 @kingbike2: lol I think a bottom up rebuild may be needed. Pinkbike isn’t a particularly complex beast and there are off-the-shelf components that can do a better job. Forums is a good example. Classifieds (buy/sell) is another.

 I've been using this for a couple days. Took me a bit to get used to it. It's awesome! One thing though, the new images on the list screens on mobile are awkward. For example, landscape images display only the top portion and crop the rest. Sometimes the image shows just a wall. The cards are also rather big. I'd rather something I can swipe through more quickly. I'm checking searches often and the way renewing posts works, most of the items I've already looked at so the details and larger photos aren't helpful.

 I was browsing for a frame a month ago and there was a bunch. I don't know if there are more than normal but definitely watch out. Too good to be true usually is.

 Thanks! One request though: can we please be able to search by the whole category not just the sub categories, i.e. search for ALL frames, not just xc frames etc.

 You can actually do that today.
1. Enter search phrase
2. Click on “select category”
3. Check the boxes for categories you want to see search results from.

It’s a bit convoluted, but, possible.

 I got one am not a fan of the update. The fact the filters were not available gave me a reason to charge my laptop once in awhile (when I got serious about making a pb buy and sell purchase).

I guess my only reason now will be taxes once a year….

 i like the new look of the mobile site. however, when i get results, it will only display 9 pages of results. if there's pages past that it won't display, only visible by pressing on 'next' ... prob a bug

 When I browse to my 'dashboard' on Pinkbike.com, there's no info about the stuff I posted to sell.
Why is that?
