This week, Tom Caldwell of Caldwell Visuals joins me for a chat on the podcast. If you’ve seen any of the ‘Slice of British Pie’ series, then you’re familiar with Tom’s work, and his passion for documenting raw, wild riding. We chat about how Tom got into filming, how he made it to where he is today, some great stories from the filming of ‘British Pie’, his plans for the future and much more. Tom’s career so far shows what you can do if you really follow your true passion. Hit play and give it a listen.

You can also listen by searching for ‘Downtime Podcast’ on iTunes, Spotify, or Google Podcasts, by asking Alexa, or over on our website http://www.downtimepodcast.com/tom-caldwell/ and you can follow us on Instagram @downtimepodcast

I can't tell if you are serious, or joking.
Dawn Wall, and many other Yosemite FA's were Tommy Caldwell, an American climber, and arguably the best trad climber in the world.
This, is Tom Caldwell, who is (I assume) British mountain biker and filmer.
Two different guys.

@privateer-wbc: I don't even know the climber guy but R/WOOSH

@colincolin: Tommy Caldwell is an interesting character. He's established more, and harder, routes than anyone else on El Cap.

He also only has 9 fingers, and climbs hard on his 9 than he did on 10...than just about anyone with 10.

And he also killed a man.

@privateer-wbc: thx for the teaser. Off to the google mobile!

@colincolin: no problem. Check out the Dawn Wall documentary.

Now back to Tom Caldwell - we shouldn't steal his thunder Smile

@colincolin: also sorry I lied. Tommy didn't kill a guy. He tried to kill a guy by pushing him off a cliff after said guy (and his rebel friends) kidnapped Tommy's climbing party at gun point on a trip through somewhere in the Middle East or there abouts.

The guy lived, and to add insult to injury he was arrested by the army I think.

Still. Baddassery abound.

Sorry @Wesleybikes, I like to keep the interviews raw though. Good job we got the biscuits done before we hit record.

@Wesleybikes: cheers man, it's got me thinking what other products we can consume during podcast recordings for good sound effects!

Great interview as ever, just one of those things ... i even have to leave the room when my partner starts biting into hard boiled sweets and chewing too loudly damn ... even I am gonna slap ME now ...

@makdthed: yeah... definitely joking! I hope you manage to get through it, I think the tea gets finished relatively early in the interview.

Tommy you are my hero!! I've got 30 of my rowing teammates together to watch all three slices of pie--none of them ride, but a year later and they still quote your films in practice. Can't wait for the next release. Just thinking I'd love to see Ben Reid and Hill in one video.
