Square One bikes are designed to bring a new reality and riding experience to the rider. A departure from the old way of classifying bikes to create a new paradigm where travel no longer determines discipline. Square One EX acts as an extension of rider’s movement - able to move over obstacles quicker which improves lap times, reduces rider fatigue, and increases on trail confidence. All Square One EX frames are built around 27.5 wheels and feature a full ACX carbon frame with 180mm suspension. Available June 2017.

If you're willing to design a bike that ugly, it better ride really well... like really really well.

According to bike rumor, this bike pedals better than most 120mm bikes and descends like a legit 180mm (or more) bike. They were blown away, to say the least. The cliche is apparently no longer a cliche...

@ka-brap: read that review. Seems pretty legit! Gotta love all the armchair haters judging the frame superficially. Sounds like a pinkbike review needs to happen!

Just read the review... I agree, this might be an actual improvement! Need to figure out more about that lower shock though.. How much cost and weight will that component add to the bike?

@Stampers: lmao dude pinkbike has a nac for trying to shove gimmicks down people's throats and over hype most of the stuff they review. If you blatantly buy into anything on this site you should reevaluate yourself lol

@burnadette: it's not a shock. it's just a slider, so I imagine it's fairly light and worth the tradeoff for stiffness.
  • 2 1
Its a new vision ... stay in your old world !!

@mhoshal: Pinkbike readers also have a nac for judging product solely based on the looks of it.

Bikes are supposed to be ridden.. A Bike with that look, it'll probably be safe from thieves... A piece of mind

Oh the earnest nature of the armchair hater haters. Lionsnoop was being being clever, wit, satire, bon mot...best prop of the day yet still he is scorned?
  • 2 0
@mhoshal: one site promoting it is one thing but bikerumor, dirt, and pinkbike have all been impressed.

I'd rather ride something ugly that works than ride something that looks like everything else and rides average.. I'd try it out for sure..

I cant actually figure out if Ugly or Not. The video made it look pretty good, but the side view is a little strange.

@burnadette: It's definitely not pretty but I like it.

I'd ride a bike that looks beauty and it's working. Why should I compromise something?

That's where all the super-v swing arms went!

of course any genuinely innovative design wont look like your standard four bar enduro rig. If their claims are true, then this could be a real milestone - give it a chance

Wow...nice post, great susp mecanism from Polygon Awesome Indonesian bike brand!

optic aside a really interesting concept!

Agreed. Noticed it on dirtmag.co.uk first where they also did a review. Seems like a great bike. Personally indeed I prefer the looks of a simple straight downtube but if this is what they need for that suspension system to work, then so be it.

So many people judging it based on looks (what else can they do I guess) but the review from Dirt sounds brilliant. However, given the time and R&D that have gone into it, as well as the spec, I can imagine it will cost well over a meeelleeeon pounds though. I'll never get to ride one, but kudos to Polygon for bucking trends and doing something different.

@vinay: yeah it better rides fantastic... looks like a KTMs attempt...
  • 1 1
@codfather1234: I'm definitely not judging on looks I just don't see it being any better then vpp, dw link, meastro or switch infinity. You've been spoon fed the gimmicks and you like the taste that's all!!
  • 1 0
@mhoshal: Especially DW-Link. I'm happy with it. If It did more, I don't see how. Plus, I don't really want 180mm of trail travel for Pisgah. Trails would feel like carpet all the time.

 @bizutch: go faster then ; )
  • 1 0
@Lagr1980: If the majority of your rides consist of bumps that are 60mm high off the ground, there is no use for 180mm of travel. 7" of travel or more makes it impossible to get the bike to pop off the ground. Everything just gets soaked up and the ride can get pretty boring is my point.

NAILD R3ACT- 2Play Suspension System, is this the new marketing bs champion. gonna cost them a fortune in stickers to fit that all that on the bike

Really dark video, can barely see the bike...
  • 4 0
Probably done on purpose to hide it a bit
  • 1 0
Can't say I'm not intrigued. Would definitely jump at the opportunity to demo it. Funky look, but if it rides like advertised I could personally look past that. Definitely prefer the black and red colorway.

That video told me exactly nothing about this product. Useless.

Forget the bike. What trail is that?!

If this climb so good and without all the "issues" from other models....why you need the lever in the rear shock????
  • 1 0
They actually removed the adjustment lever. In the write up they actually addressed this very same question.
