Riders are enjoying perfect terrain conditions on the second day of practice at the first round of the EWS European Enduro Series. After yesterdays light rain in the afternoon. Special stages two and four are everyone's favorite with SS1 and SS3 also being really fun but short. Second special stage is completely new for this race, local trail builders really put a ton of effort to get the best possible track for this event and they have certainly accomplished this goal. Special stage one although short is a bike park like on the first section, with neverending switchbacks, wall rides and tight corners After a 500m dirt road the second section awaits, full with rock faces, jumps and plenty of lines to choose from. Riders were repeating each section to be sure they picked the best ones for their skills.

The second stage is a different kind of monster. Starts fast, loose and step and suddenly a long gnarly rock garden with big boulders steps into action. Riders walked up and down the full section looking for the best line, but here, you don't choose the line, it chooses you. The grip is perfect until is not and then things can go wrong fast. Staying on your bike, carefully using your brakes on the key sections is what will get you to the bottom safe and alive. After that rock garden, the rest of the trail seems like childs play, fast and fun, without big complications with a short but hard climb right in the middle. As this is the second day of training, riders have already done stages three, four and five, but some wanted to repeat them. Others prefered to save some strength for Sunday.

Sunday morning the first rider departs at 8 am, there are around 120 riders registered so expect the last rider to come down around 15:00. At today's briefing, some changes were communicated to the riders regarding liason timing. It will be a good day for racing, the weather looks promising, sunny and mild temperatures. Stay tuned for the results!
