Round 2 of the 2015 4X ProTour is all set to take place alongside the Downhill World Cup race in Fort William this weekend. Title sponsored by Buff, the World’s top 4X riders are now all on route to the Highlands for a showdown in front of the huge crowds in Fort William. Fort William is an amazing venue for 4X; the track is demanding for the riders and entertaining for the crowd. The riders and spectators both love it and on Saturday night - 06 June - the sparks will fly as all the riders will battle to see who will take the win.
In the women’s racing, 2014 Champion, Helene Fruhwirth, took the win at Round 1 ahead of Julia Lackas. Lackas who qualified fastest in Winterberg clearly has the speed to challenge Fruhwirth in 2015. These two will go head to head again on Saturday night to see who will lead the series points after Round 2. Heather Kay will lead the British challenge in front of her home crowd to see if she can take the win.
In the men’s, the racing is going to be electric. Tomas Slavik, the 2014 Champion unfortunately missed the opening round due to illness. This opened the door for Quentin Derbier to take the win in Germany. The home crowd in Fort William, as always, will be getting behind all the British riders. Leading the challenge will be Scott Beaumont and Lewis Lacey. Scott 'Boom Boom' Beaumont had a great start to the year finishing 2nd in Winterberg with Lewis in 5th. Also returning to Fort William is Joost Wichman. The Dutch rider is a former 4X World Champion and without doubt will be one of the key riders this weekend.
Round 2 is open to additional riders. All Pro Elite riders can enter or you must have raced in Junior or Senior and finished in the top 8 of a British 4X Series race. You can enter the race
