Privateer Launches Limited 141 Öhlins Edition

Press Release: Privateer Bikes

With the (Northern Hemisphere) Summer riding season just around the corner, Privateer Bikes is launching a limited edition version of our versatile and award-winning 141 complete bike, available to ride this month. When our Colorado colleagues began scheming about a slightly burlier build for the do-anything 141 and after seeing some of our supported riders choose 'Swedish Gold' on their frame-up builds, we took note.

The result is a 141 complete with Öhlins suspension, race-ready HUNT EnduroWide wheels, and a sturdier rear tire (Schwalbe Hans Dampf SuperGravity) in a striking black and yellow colourway. With the ground-hugging sensitivity of the TTX22 coil shock on the rear, combined with the ultra adjustable RXF36 air fork up front, this build is ready to tackle any track, from the Colorado Rockies to the Tweed Valley.

The 141 will ease you to the top with its upright climbing position and supportive suspension design, whilst its progressive geometry will let you focus on the next chute, tight switchback, or tempting side hit on the way back down.

It's HILARIOUS how butt hurt Americans are when someone misspells something in English or lack knowledge of American geography or history. Meanwhile most Americans cant even place Vietnam or any other country you invaded on a world map.

@cykelmastaren: Is there any chance you aren't under 25 years old or are even adult euros that ignorant? I think it's HILARIOUS how euros get so butt hurt when reality momentarily forces them to engage with the fact that their entire political and economic system is underwritten by us Americans. Without us fat, ignorant, stupid, arrogant, yanks covering all your rubber checks, your entire continent would be Uzbekistan or however it's spelled. You're welcome, BTW. ;-)

@cykelmastaren: I biked across Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos. It was amazing. It was super affordable and so gorgeous. The street food was delicious. I thought people wouldn't be nice to Americans, but I was wrong. People there were awesome. Now I know exactly where those countries are on the map.

Nice bike with a very sensible build (kudos for SLX drivetrain with XT shifter instead of XT derailleur and SLX shifter, or holy forbid SX/NX)!
  • 4 0
Yea, all "Limited" bikes seem to have Ohlins this year. Canyon and Commencal recently and Specialized earlier this week with the Enduro.

 They can actually supply stock

@chrismac70: Yeah cause their stuff is built by SR suntour.
  • 5 0
 @ehvahn: xfusion
  • 1 0
 YT as well
  • 3 6
@kanasasa: Pulled a damper a couple years ago and said SR Suntour right on the side, as did the warranty we put back in it. Has something changed? I've inquired to Ohlins a number of times weather or not their forks are still unsafe, under-performing garbage and they've not replied so I've just assumed the answer is yes.
  • 3 0
@ehvahn: internals are ohlins, lowers and uppers are xfusion

So true, the only company able to fulfill (small) orders of (small) bike companies atm

- Prime
- Orange
- Raaw
- YT
- Privateer
- etc
  • 2 0
What you had was a used Suntour fork with an Ohlins sticker on it lmao @ehvahn:
  • 7 2
Are we seeing more bikes come with Ohlins due to supply chain issues?
  • 6 2
I was coming here to joke "is it even a special edition bike if it doesn't have Ohlins?"

My gut tells me that supply chain issues are why we keep seeing them pop up on special builds
  • 1 0
For sure. I have a 141 GX/RS/Fox build on order since December and it's supposed to ship in May, while these Ohlins completes are in stock right now. Those special editions must be an availability thing.
  • 5 0
That’s some pretty nice bike porn right there
  • 1 0
i find it confusing and interesting that OHlins produces in Taiwan.
Do they produce all their rally, and other suspensions over there? I believe this might be a 3rd party handling all operations while Ohlins remains to be just a fasade. Or a logo basically.

This falls squarely under the “I wouldn’t buy those item but happy to have them on a build” category.
