Unreleased Slackline Hardtail Stolen From Stanton HQ

Stanton Bikes, based in Matlock, England, have had a pre-release version of its 3rd generation Slackline hardtail stolen from its headquarters.

The original Slackline was Stanton's first frame and the updated bike was set to be launched soon as part of the brand's 10th-anniversary celebrations. Unfortunately, it got stolen on Friday night, a few days before it could be made public and has now gone missing. From the CCTV video posted above (click on the right arrow to find it), it looks like the thieves cut a hole in one of the doors and ran off with two bikes.

The bike is a red Stanton hardtail with a distinctive "Next Gen 3" decal on the seat tube. Stanton have asked people to share the info far and wide to make the bikes too hot to handle.

This bike is the first of the new Gen 3 range and was set to be released on our 10th anniversary just a few days away. Make sure you keep an eye out for it on selling sights, it's pretty distinctive and is the only Stanton so for rocking the new "Next Gen 3" decal on the seat tube.

We would have loved to do a proper reveal on this frame as it's where it all started for us, but that will have to wait. The Bike was built and ready for testing and demoing but now we're back to square one....for now.

 Ive had a big delay last year sadly. But worked out just fine. They are nice dudes- they dont fullfill your orders on purpose.

 I don't want to offend my friends from the UK, cause we got our own well publicized problems here in these parts, but if all I ever did was read Pinkbike (which isn't too far from the truth, sadly) I'd believe that if you own a bike there, it will be stolen

It's brazen and it seems from afar that the UK police either don't give a crap or are horribly inept. Might have something to do with video now, try to catch later policies....  @Poulsbojohnny: sadly it’s about a decade of austerity that’s cut police numbers to the bone. It’s a well understood problem now and the government seem to have realised that you do actually need public sector workers. Our police are legitimately world class and generally do a fantastic job.

 Would-be capitalists operating as thieves. The lowest life form I can think of, comparable to viruses. Two bikes being selected should tell us this was a targeted theft. Obviously, yes. These guys knew what they were after well before their night started. Not impulse shoplifters. Inside information, most certainly. Unfortunately, we have to look to ourselves to secure our resources. Dye traps and scars to aid in identification The thieves could be stopped by a couple of territorial dogs like those used in this way for successfully for centuries. It may be time to create a new model line using K-9s as the theme.
