The 2017 Pumptrack Challenge presented by Rockshox proved testing for the riders with a number of days of rain resulting in a really soft track during practice and seeding. The corners at the back of each lane – vital for riders to maintain speed as they head back to the finish – were soft and slow, and eventually formed full blown ruts. But this is racing and everyone has to deal with the same course. By race time the sun had been out for a while and quickly dried everything out. Keegan Wright and Caroline Buchanan persevered and took advantage of the conditions, coming out on top after a great evening of racing.
