Quaker Oats - Fuel for the win?

Porridge. The Scots absolutely love it, at the Winter races we even had a porridge bar serving the hot stuff.

I know for a fact Cathro, Hutchens, Barnes and Cunningham all live on the stuff. Should you?First off I never even did Chemistry at School, I was a physics man. Therefore before any of you smart arses try and prove some point, I've obviously ripped the nutritional stuff from the Quakers website.

What I can tell you is Winter is coming and down goes the DH bike and up comes the XC beast. Saturday and Sunday mornings out in all conditions grinding the trails for a few hours!

Many of you will be packing the energy bars for sure, though what if you didn't have to? Well read on.

We all know porridge tastes like cardboard yet is pretty good for us. No point having that full English Breakfast before the race/ride as it will sit in your belly for hours trying to digest.

This is where Quaker Oats "Oatso Simple Variety Pack" comes in a treat: Three scrumptious flavors and ready in 2 1/2minutes in either a microwave or in the saucepan.

 Porridge is good like that, but it can't rival real porridge. Fresh oats cooked over an hour, then served with maple sauce and raisins. It's like heaven in a bowl, and much better than Quaker oats. tup

 nah les, syrup all the way Wink i love this stuff, althgough sometimes its a bit easier to make up a big pan of porridge oats instead

 You guys have different varieties overseas. We have Apple cinnamon, maple and brown sugar, and original. I think that apple blueberry would be awesome. This stuff is the greatest, I eat two bowls every morning, with a spoon of brown sugar on top.

 I make the stuff by cooking it in milk instead of water and its thick enough to manual on!!! add about 4 tbsp brown sugar, its like eating oatmeal cookie dough

 I love the stuff! i just put brown sugar in it to make it not taste like cardboard, and i always used to eat the stuff with the candy dinosuar eggs in it when i was a kid.

 i buy it flavorless in huge tubs, way cheaper, add milk, brown suger, and honey!
