Luckyyyy, judging from the practice and qualifier runs, this is going to be an unexpectedly buck race.
  • + 40
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE! Amazing!! Tahnee qualies first for the second time this season! Pompon back after injury and straight into the thick of it!
And Gwin way back prob with a mistake or a crash in the loose conditions :O Cannot wait to see this go down!
  • + 13
@kusa: Holy shit, that looks painfull
  • + 16
@kusa: Only Gwin could ride a rodeo line, wreck, and be up in a faster amount of time than I think I could ride the whole section. Papa Goat for the win this weekend I hope!
  • + 5
Anyone know what happened to Loris Vergier??
  • + 18
@kusa: STAY ON YOUR BIKE, AARON!
  • + 13
same place where claudio crashed on the preview
  • + 37
the only problem with this is the live stream will start with gwin, then it'll be slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, slower, gwin wins
  • + 2
@JoseBravo: he crashed in the same place last year he lose the race over the plunge.
  • + 10
@app-uncture: I don't know man. Danny laid down a fast one
  • + 6
@app-uncture: So little faith in Danny!
  • + 4
@kusa: Even when he falls, he's good!
  • + 11
 COME ON MINNNAAARRR
  • + 2
@dhx42 @Sprint36 While I did pick Danny as the winner for whatever contest is on the front page, now that the results are in Gwin actually had a faster timed training than Danny's qualifier... but maybe the track is drying out and slowing down
  • + 2
@zeerob: So you're rooting for Minnaar then?
  • + 0
@JoseBravo: not exactly. Gwin crashed after the drop because he unclipped before. You could see his weight was way out front when he went over the drop. Looked really painful though. I hope he's not hurt but it could make the season interesting if Hart or Minnaar win and Gwin can't deliver because the crash messed with his headgame...
  • + 2
 @kusa: WTF!!!! holy COW!!!!
  • + 1
@tabletop84: it really didn't seem like he crash that hard, the actual crash was after the drop with the tree. he did not OTB he just slip to his back. that drop last year made him lose the race, it is an awkward turn to right with off camber, turn to left to a drop, to right turn. he must have make a mistake picking a wrong line before he had to unclip but even unclip they don't have trouble making drops, It just caught him with his guard down in an awkward body position.
  • + 1
@arturogp: yeah like I said he crashed because he uncplipped before the drop and couldn't get clipped in fast enough plus getting off line. I can't tell if the crash was hard but it sure looked awful. I wouldn't wanna crash like that. But it also appears he had to wear a back protector...
  • + 1
Anyone notice how many people had the same speed? It would be reasonable if an even number but there's 5 people with 54.637
  • + 2
@tabletop84: looking at the clip again to me it seems rather than unclipping he got his feet on the pedal but he got stuck in the seat peak, he didn't get the chance to balance his weight to the rear wheel so he landed in a real awkward way.
  • + 1
As we all know qualis don't have much bearing on the finals. Would be awesome to see Hart take this one but anything can and will happen in the real race. Also would put good money on Rachael but thats just playing the odds.
  • + 1
@fecalmaster: Ive got Hart, Gwin and Rachel in my fantasy team. don't wanna jinx it so I'll say no more...
  • + 2
 @Peanutpooper:
Yeah, looks like he landed on his coccyx. First time I've been able to legitimately write that word. :-)
Shame, as it looks like he had a monumental save going on up til that point
  • + 2
@arturogp: he wrote on instagram that his seat got tangled up with his trousers. Scary...
  • + 2
Fuck yeah Danny! I knew you had it in you.
  • + 31
"stay on yer bike Dann..." oh he has.
  • + 11
Mike Jones has been absolutely on fire this year in qualis but just not managed to hold it together for the finals - When he gets a clean run in he will threaten the top step for sure - Has to be CRC's top rider next season with Sam slowing down considerably. Brayton too - Love his riding style, so good to see him up there now. That Gambler seems to suit him so well.
  • + 14
The gambler was named after him.
  • + 2
Definitely stoked to see Brayton consistently on the first page this year
  • + 1
 @hexhamstu: ride or die
  • + 0
My guess is Brayton replaces Mullaly next year on the Scott team.
  • + 1
@chezotron: Mulally has been out injured. That's what you haven't heard much of him on the wc circuit. Don't forget he has the second most famous chainless run (at least that I can think of)
  • + 1
@taquitos: I know he broke his arm but he hasn't been consistently good since signing with Scott. He will likely get left behind after the season. Such is the game. Hopefully he ends up somewhere where he's comfortable with the bike and has good support.
  • + 13
Love seeing Danny Hart doing so well this year. It's feels like it's been a long time coming and very much deserved.
  • + 1
All down to the change from marzocchi to fox perhaps?
  • + 6
@mcozzy: usually I don't credit a switch from one suspension company to another being this biggest reason for greater success but the more and more I watch that Mondraker tackle rock gardens the more I see rear wheel traction that very few of the other bikes on the circuit seem to be able to replicate. And since he's on a almost identical bike as last year... it's a solid argument.

Vital has had the RAW videos all year and anytime they catch Hart or Greenland going through a really rough section, that bike and especially the rear end seem to just track the ground incredibly well.

I think it's the sum of better suspension, and just being all that more comfortable on the Mondraker... either waystoked, to see him doing so well!
  • + 7
Holy crap I gotta stop using the swipe keyboard on my phone... that whole comment could kill an English teacher.
  • + 2
Best moto legs...like Gwin. Those boys always amaze me with how much speed they can carry over the rough stuff.
  • + 1
@brockfisher05: In an interview after Lourdes I believe that Danny said the new suspension is considerably better
  • + 0
@brockfisher05: it probably doesn't have to do with the frame or the suspension manufacturer. If that impact would be that huge the rest of the team should be faster too and Pekoll does very poor compared to past seasons.
  • + 1
@brockfisher05: You are completely right man, as i have also noticed the same fact. Despite the fact that i ride also a Mondraker, most of the videos where Danny Hart goes through the track and mostly a gnarly section, the rear end seems to track the terrain so well, giving him an enormous acceleration.
At the beginning i thought that this is just my only inaccurate percepiton, but it seems totally not my fault. I noticed that a few other bikes were able to stand so well on the same terrain.
  • + 2
@hamncheez: most pros talk wonders about their sponsors
  • + 2
I think it's in his head more than in his suspension. He's on a roll this year like he was in 2010 to 2011. Remember his second place at Val di Sole on the crappy old short glory? That last berm where he almost got bucked off was unreal.

"You have to do that sort of thing if you want to be up there, and I did it and I was up there. So there you go."

It's in the head.

Look at Gee. He's gone from killing it on the 26 inch aluminium Fury three years ago to also ran on the carbon Session, that Gwin used to destroy everyone. Purely psychological.

They interviewed Dave Garland about Hart's suspension last year, after they parted ways. He said all the top suspension companies are the same at world cup level.
  • + 10
Very interesting. Gwin's fastest TT run was a full second faster than Hart's qualifying time. But N. Hughes' practice write up said that Gwin was taking some "risky" lines. I wonder if course condition's are deteriorating and if Gwin will have to play it safe on Saturday given his lead in the overall?
  • + 2
he crashed over plunge, just like last time, he lose the race because that fall over plunge.
  • + 12
Gwin always rides to win man!
  • + 12
peaty only 9 seconds off the pace!!...go on lad
  • + 5
Now imagine if he didn't stop for beer! Peaty ftw
  • + 10
Hope Mik is in the final racing - he was riding hot in practice. Be nice to see him podium.
  • + 2
 Amen sir
  • + 10
 solid comeback from Pompon!
  • + 9
Myriam Nicole back in business ! Maybe a bit more suspense...
  • + 6
That's just cold-hearted of Rachel to play with us like that when she's just going to end up turning the gas on tomorrow and go warp speed :-)
  • + 6
 Massive women's field. Wonderful.
  • + 42
They have a separate category for massive women?
  • + 1
 @mrgonzo: Hahahaha!!!!
  • + 1
@mrgonzo: It's only fair, there's enough of them about.
  • + 1
 Awww, you guys...
  • + 4
You know the track is not much technical when the top 50 qualis inside 10 seconds! You can't make mistake on a track like that
  • + 6
Gutted for Ed Masters....from what I can see he didn't qualify
  • + 1
He went straight out the front door on his quali run!
  • + 3
 @EDBProductions: dat rebound-settings...
  • + 4
Will we finally see a full Sam Hill run or will we again just see the time on a webpage...?
  • + 1
How many riders are in the live runs? - Sam was only 7 seconds back but times are getting so tight that is well out of the door....
  • + 2
No they only show the top 20 qualifiers. I want to see Hill on a good run so damn bad, I thought maybe with all the inside lines this might be his track...
  • + 3
Moving forward I'm only going to cheer for riders and teams who are wearing the SS chainsaw crest.
  • + 5
 Łukasik 22nd!!!
  • + 3
Where is elite men's results? I see women and juniors only?
  • + 2
Want to see Blinky on top again... Whats up with him he is not as agressive as 2014
  • + 2
 What happened to Vergier? 35th...
  • + 1
So stoked to have Myriam Nicole back and in top 3 for qualies!!! Going to be an exciting race that's for sure.
  • + 1
149 riders across 30 seconds is really tight racing!! Should be an exciting final!
  • + 2
Was Brosnan's OTB not during qualifying? Crazy time if it was!
  • + 2
Nah think it was during morning practice
  • + 1
A, minor mishap, gwin will wreck that spot on race day! An i dont mean...crash, but, that was crazy

  • + 1
 Did Gwin crash?
  • + 4
 Apparently so
  • + 1
Looks like it between split 2 and 3
  • + 7
@sourmix: So tomorrow he'll be in the hot seat the entire time.
  • + 2
@neimbc: to the entire time, he qualified 19'th with the mistake, less than 7 seconds behind Danny.
  • + 4
@easy: well, seeing red bull only live feeds the top 20 now - that'll be pretty much the entire time. Be nice to see someone knock him off - to those who aren't die hard Aaron fans.
  • + 3
@xy9ine: Thanks for the link! That was a wild ride!
  • + 1
@xy9ine: far far far worse than last year fall!
  • + 2
Stood 3m away from his crash. There were some big roots were he landed. But like a miracle he instantly took his bike and rode away like nothing happened
  • + 2
@ink9: to be fair he just hit himself pretty hard on the balls, but he didn't crash that hard I mean it was an ugly crash but he hit the ground with his back, pretty much he tame the bike until the last second.
  • + 1
 @arturogp: exactly
  • - 1
Laurie greenland #5. He is a junior. Good hustle young lad.
  • + 1
He's no longer a junior...this is his rookie season in elite men. Even more impressive.
