So we listened!!! Well, it was already sort of in the works, but we really valued everyones input.

Welcome to the Mont-Sainte-Anne, GAAP Enduro
This race is being organized and executed by the GAAP Enduro, in affiliation with the OSPREY BC Enduro Series(BCES) and OSPREY Canadian National Enduro, presented by NOBL Wheels (CNEC). The GAAP Enduro is in its third year and have been featuring some amazing trails in the Mont-Sainte-Anne Region of Quebec, these aren't your 26" wheel toting, Lululemon pant wearing, kosher trails. These are the real deal!

You can expect the course to take approximately 3-4 hours to complete and it will contain; 4 timed stages, with technicals sections of rock, roots , open/high speed, flowy (Quebec style) sections, jumps ,drops, wood bridges & little pedalling section and plenty of pedalling during the transitions.

There will be a very festive vibe in typical Quebecois style, plenty of poutine to keep you hydrated and the end of the race will finish beside a waterfall. The waterfall is mainly there to keep the beer cold.

• Racers at the GAAP Canadian Enduro venue, will accumulate points for the CNEC.
• Racers of the CNEC (Rossland, Mont-Ste-Anne, Revelstoke, Sun Peaks), must race 2-4 events in order to qualify for the overall
Sunpeaks is a BONUS POINTS round, where riders will accumulate 15% extra points.
• Registration for ROSSLAND, REVELSTOKE AND SUNPEAKS - Click Here
• Categories for the GAAP, CNEC, stop are the PRO, 50+ 40-49, 30-39, 21-29, U21 and Open Women

About the GAAP Enduro
Gabriel Drouin and Patrice Dorion have been organizing great events across all disciplines of mountain biking, their goal in partnering with the CNEC is to help Canadian Enduro athletes find their place amongst other racers, while riding the best trails in Canada, and to help build a durable community of mountain bikers.
bigquotesIt would be an hounor for us to be a stop of the OSPREY Canadian National Enduro, we are excited to help see enduro grow to the next level and we have an amazing amount of technical riding in this region of Quebec-Pat and Gab

 >flowy (Quebec style) sections

Probably the worse type of flow there is... Our trail builders really need to get out of the 1990's.

Yep, especially at Mont-Saint-Anne. La Yable is a weird one, hard to believe it's new-ish, but can't really complain since I don't dig... Yeah I don't. If you charge 15$ to access blown out trail and ask for volunteers to fix them, you're doing something wrong somewhere.

MSA is an exception as they're well known for their unexisting maintenance though. Still a fun mountain. I'll take a blown out trail over a shitty flow trail any day.

"these aren't your 26" wheel toting, Lululemon pant wearing, kosher trails. These are the real deal!". This is so ridicules I am not even insulted.
My 26 hardtail is waiting at the front door for the morning . I almost wish I had something from lululem to put on in the morning

Is anyone doing the rest of the stops and already got their summer racing planned actually going to head all the way out to Quebec for this last minute addition? Personally I have my race schedule worked out for the season and I'm not giving up an EWS race or spending the travel expenses just to complete the series

No kidding, already heading out east for the DH Canada cups.. Tickets were cheap a few months ago. Not so much now

@ragdollonbike (Kate) and @anthony3vans (Anthony) - You're right, that doesn't make sense...That's why we made it so you only have to do 2/4 events to qualify, so for you guys living in BC, you can come do, Rossland, Revelstoke and Sun Peaks (Sun Peaks is the Finale and 15% bonus point round)

The Quebec event was added for East Coast riders that wanted to compete in the CNEC, but didn't have the time or the budget to come spend 2-3 weeks in BC. So we gave them a somewhat local event. Now they can race in August, in Quebec) and then head West for Sun Peaks or Revelstoke (Revy is on a long weekend, before school starts, for a reason Wink

Don't stress yourself out about trying to make it out there, instead, just come to Sun Peaks and Revy, grab a pint and shred your bike!

@bcenduroseries: you bet! Can't wait to try your events out, heard great things! See you on the trails!!

@bcenduroseries: Really looking forward to the Rossland, Revvy and Sun Peaks rounds!!! Had plenty of recommendations about the events! Smile

The definition of enduro is a little different in Quebec then everywhere else... I think enduro would be more popular around here if it was only timed ascents... and going down by beat up old fire access roads... ducken raids!

Wouldn't most of the pro catergory be racing EWS at Whistler? Seems like a strange date to host a National level event.
  • 3 0
Was disappointed when I saw the date for this exact reason, I'll be in Whistler competing in the EWS. But I had already signed up for all the other BC Enduros Frown
  • 1 1
Kinda interesting they call it a national event.. National DH events in the UCI (typically cat 2) (nationals cat 1) are feeder races for WC.

Assuming that's what's next for EWS?..

@heckle1000, Shayne, you're living up to your screen name. Shayne, these events are more than just being about the pros, they're a stepping stone for amateurs and there are a lot of riders on the East Coast, that can't afford to make the journey West to Crankworx, so what would be better then entering a rad race, close to home and then celebrating like you were at Crankworx!
  • 1 0
Hey @AussieDreamZ (Jacyln), thanks for registering for the BC Enduros!!! I'm sure you'll have your fix of racing and no worries about missing the Quebec stop of the CNEC. You only need to compete in 2/4 events to qualify, so save some cash and stay local!

YEOW!

you guys are the best!! yay!!!

As Happy as I am to see this, I can't help think...Ontario also exists in the east. So does New Brunswick. Frown
And both have some Superb enduro/XC terrain.
Lets make it happen cap'n Smile

Couldn't track down a picture of an enduro rider for the GAAP Enduro logo?
  • 1 0
That's seriously funny! Like, come on... :S
  • 1 0
Hahahah @cwatt (Colin) and @mammal (Neil), its all about the details right!? I'm sure Pat and Gab of the GAAP Enduro would be stoked to add an Enduro Rider, send them a pic of you shredding and maybe you'll make the logo! Would be rad!!! #BallinOnABudget!

What kind of jump are they talking about? I don't have any ideas where there are jumps at Mont-Sainte-anne...
  • 1 0
there's a couple in the old red bull monte descend trail. sinon c'est dans la WC, but i doubt the fqsc will let enduro riders down the world cup downhill trail...
