Round 3 - Harper Mountain, Kamloops, BC

May 28th

Round 3 of the 2023 We Are One Canadian Enduro League Presented By Leatt is on. We are back at the home of the Canadian Enduro League and possibly the longest-standing venue, Harper Mountain, Kamloops. With almost 300 riders ready to race, this weekend will be epic. Let's get into it!

Race Preview

Harper Mountain, Kamloops, is a true rider favorite. Featuring an incredible network of trails, there truly is something for everything here. This weekend's course will cover almost 40km and over 1800m of climbing across 5 stages. Temperatures could reach 30 degrees on Sunday, so take it easy on the climbs and make sure you have plenty of water and snacks. Liaisons this weekend will consist of singletrack climbs and gentle forest service roads.

This black diamond graded event encompasses all of the classic Harper trails, including Unicorn DH, Nates Upper, Nates Lower, Tempus Fugit, Easy Rider, and more. The Harper stages are long! Stage 1 and 3 are both over 4 and a half kilometers long, putting man and machine through a true test of endurance. The lungs will be burning, legs shot, and arms absolutely hanging. But it will be epic. As usual, we have a huge amount of swag from our partner brands, including gear and helmets from Leatt, lubes and cleaners from WPL, multiple forks, rear shocks and seat posts from Fox Suspension, service vouchers from Ion2 Suspension, and so much more.

We're also stoked to see the return of the We Are One Rim Swap Fiesta! The OGs will remember this, but the challenge is simple. The fastest person to remove a tire from a rim, re-mount it and inflate it(the bead must be set!) will win a set of We Are One rims! Even better yet, they will build them onto your setup for free! Make sure you swing by the tent and put your fastest time down and check out some of the other games and things they have going on this weekend for a chance to win even more swag!

Trails don't build or maintain themselves. A huge thank you to the staff from We Are One and the Kamloops DH Union for joining us for an evening of trail work last week. With over 30 people, we were able to log 60+ hours of volunteer trail work, refreshing berms, clearing fall zones, patching holes, smoothing braking bumps, and so much more! The trails this weekend will be dreamy!

This weekend will also host the second Red Bull Downtime Stage of the season. Get ready to risk it all for your VIP ticket to Joyride! More information on this below.

A massive thank you to Cheryl Beattie, Lisa & Norm Dabuger, Tourism Kamloops, Kamloops Performance Cycling Center, The Bicycle Cafe, The Kamloops DH Union, our volunteers, and everyone else that has helped to make this weekend epic!

Red Bull Downtime Stage

This season we are stoked to be hosting the Red Bull Downtime Stage at select events. The Red Bull Downtime Stage is an integrated special stage within the event, giving riders an extra chance to win some epic prizes! To compete in the Red Bull Downtime Stage, you must be an amateur competitor and fully complete the given race. To be considered eligible for winning the prize, you must also be 18 years or older. The fastest amateur Male and Female rider of the Red Bull Downtime Stage will win one (1) FORB/VIP ticket for Red Bull Joyride 2023/2024, and a unique Red Bull Downtime Stage medal!

For RD #3, Stage 5, the crowd-favorite grass slalom stage will host the Red Bull Downtime Stage. Get ready to risk it all on the grass turns!

Red Bull Downtime Stage Rules:
• You must register and complete the entire CEL event.
• Racers are only eligible to win the prize once. If a racer who has previously won holds the fastest time at a second event, they will forfeit the prize, and the next fastest person will be awarded.
• Racers must be 18 years of age or older at the time of competition.
• This prize has no cash value.
• This prize only includes one (1) FORB/VIP ticket to Red Bull Joyride 2023/2024 in Whistler, BC. No travel, accommodation, or other expenses are covered.
• Racers in the pro categories are excluded from this prize.

Keep your eyes peeled on our social media for a course preview.

McElhanney Stage

We are proud to have McElhanney Ltd. as the official Outdoor Recreation Consultant of the Canadian Enduro League. They offer many trail-related services, from trail planning, design, and construction administration, to Section 57 applications, with an even broader list of services such as engineering, geomatics, planning, and more. The McElhanney Stage of each race is chosen to highlight a unique experience for riders and often includes unique trail features. This stage will feature more opportunities for racers to get photographed by our media team, so make sure you're smiling!

For RD #3, the McElhanney Stage will be the 1.2km long Stage 4 - Easy Rider. This flow stage combines a huge array of jumps and berms to keep everyone on their toes. Don't be fooled though; at race pace, it will put riders to the test! Finishing with a huge 35ft - 40ft table, this stage will be all about jumping for show and cornering for dough.

Keep your eyes peeled on our social media for a course preview.
