Welcome to a new season of the EWS Continental European Enduro Series with the first race of the season in Macanet de Cabrenys, Spain. Enduro Salines is an known event that has been running for several years already, with the likes of Cedric Gracia, Jerome Clementz, Tommi Misser, Damien Oton, Bernat Guardia and many more riding on the amazing trail network locals have been building last 10 years. Current weather forecast is perfect to enjoy the best terrain possible. Today during first official training riders had some rain and even light hail, and later on more Sun. Mint conditions to have the best craic on the weekend.

Almost 40km awaits the riders, with 1800m of climbing and five timed stages. Second and fourth stages are the longest of the race, with several rock gardens and technical segments on the top sections of the trails. Mid section of stage fourth is a bike park like with tons of fun, berms, jumps and rollers, just lose the brakes and let it roll. There are several international riders ready to claim the first stop of the European Enduro Series. Swedish riders Robin Wallner (Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team) and Zakarias Blom Johansen (Cube Action Team) together with French Youn Deniaud (Giant Factory Off-Road Team) and Spaniard Gabriel Torralba (Orbea Enduro Team). Local riders as Mariano Mari, Guillem Sanz, Xavier Domenech or Guillem Cassals will put some pressure on the top dogs on the battle for the podium. On the women's side, Anita and Caro Gehrig (Norco Twins Racing) will certainly be strong contenders for the podium, together with local Marketa Michalkova, French downhiller Nastasia Gimenez and Great Britain’s Yasmine Adel Refaat.

Today Friday training was opening for the third, fourth and fifth stages. Tomorrow Saturday all stages will be open for riders to train. Race plate and bike checks from 9 am at race paddock in the village. Sunday's race will certainly be an event to follow.
