Phat Wednesday presented by Kokanee.

Things were spiced up a little for Race 4 of the Phat Wednesday Series presented by Kokanee last night. The course difficulty was stepped up this week and the return of some familiar faces back to town resulted in some tight battles to claim the podium. The course for the night had racers proving their skills on the loose flat corners of Fantastic and then heading into Lower Whistler Downhill. Off the fade away jump and then on to B-Line Connector into Afternoon Delight, which has seen a little bit of trail maintenance love making for a smoother ride through the rooty trail network and then finishing on Detroit Rock City. In total, 215 brave souls came out to show their stuff on the harder track.

Finding the balance between speed and control on Detroit Rock City wasn't an issue for Kenny Smith.

In the open male category, Chris Kovarik claimed the top spot in his first Phat Wednesday race for the season with a time of 2:30.70. Followed by Remi Gauvin and Zanders Geddes. The tightest race of the night was in the Master male category, with the top 3 only separated by fractions of a second, reports are these three might spend too much time riding together. Chris Dewar returned to the top step for the first time this season with a time of 2:42.81. Only one 100th of a second back was Adam Billinghurst and Kenny Smith took 3rd place.
