The Grass-Race 6.0 is in the books now. The
Froeriders from Olpe, near to Cologne organize a familiar charity race event every year. It takes place on the little ski-hill in Fahlenscheid. Doesn't matter if you are rookie, a pro or a spectator - nobody comes to short on this event. The riders were provided with a funny, fast and technical track, while the spectators got a good show and the chance to be part of a big raffle. Here everybody had the chance to win one of the many frames or other bike parts and apparel.
Check out the course preview below:
The first part of the track snakes through the forest over roots and jumps.
While the second part consists of wet and slippery grass corners.
For the training on Friday the riders were bestowed with dry weather and also some sunshine.
But for Seeding and Raceday, Petrus opened his doors and the liquid sunshine transformed the grass-lane into a mud-slide.
From now on the the riders needed a perfect bike control to ride down without crashing and sliding it down.
At first everybody had to survive the qualification run, a timed session were everybody had to race on his own.
The 32 fastest qualifiers were forwarded into the battle mode. Now they had to fight one against one to get into the next round.
In between the break was used for a whip-off session. Because of all the mud it was not easy to get enough speed, but some riders accepted the challenge and throw out some nice styles!
