It's been a few seasons since the Bromont bike park had any downhill race circuits visit other than the local series held by the Maaxx Events crew. Different interests and an ever changing trend in cycling may be to blame but still, Bromont remains a popular destination and training ground for the gravity fed sport.
In an effort to bring back a proper downhill race to the mountain, two well respected locals along with the help of all their friends got the pedals turning and the shovels digging to resurrect parts of an old World Cup track with a tricky new bottom bit. Props go out to Bastien Major and Jonathan Lefrancois for the exciting weekend we waited much too long for. The crew worked at it right after putting on a show in Mont-Tremblant for the Canada Cup a few weeks back, carrying momentum into this event. Even the weather cooperated this time around. Racers who've been around long enough will tell you it's traditionally wet when it came to bigger race events in Bromont. It seems the weather just had to let this one fly.
