The final race for the 2019 Revolution Enduro series
took place, Sunday September 15th, at Hartman Rocks in Gunnison Colorado. The trail system is managed by the BLM and offers a unique trail system for multiple user groups including, hike, bike, equestrian, and moto. The trails are centralized in a tight geographic zone that made it ideal for the Junior finale. Revolution Enduro realizes the future of enduro racing and mountain biking lies within these juniors and with the help of the Crested Butte Devo team we had an awesome event lined out for the younger generation.
The concentrated trail network was used to create a nine stage Enduro for ages 8-17. “I saw the opportunity to create several course options for different age groups and skill levels. There’s a trend for enduro tracks to be like a downhill course. This is great for more advanced riders with technical bike handling skills, but can be overwhelming if you’re a beginner or trying to get your head around steep and rowdy trails. We wanted the younger ages to have fun and get excited about racing enduro. The courses were designed for the 8-9 age group to race less challenging terrain and experience an enduro race while the older categories raced on steep and technical courses to satisfy the trail experience they want in a race.”
It was an incredible season and great venue to finish and celebrate the achievements won during the series. Thank you to the Crested Butte Devo team!!! Without you this Junior Enduro would have never happened. We can't wait to see you in 2020! Stay tuned for a new schedule with fresh venues!!!
