Race Report: Vitus First Tracks Cup Round 2 - Bigwood

Aug 22, 2020
by Yaroslav Alpizar

Just like that, the second race of the Vitus First Track Enduro Cup is done! Sunday was completely different from Saturday, no rain, sunny and hot. In the morning the trails were still wet and greasy but as the day went on and riders kept doing their thing the grip went from nothing to good and to better. By the end of the race day trails where on mint conditions, the end of stage 4 looked that there was no rain for days.

With the good climate and Sun all day, more riders showed up, but still numbers where kept under the 200 limit, 194 to be exact. Each and everyone of them had a good craic on another well-organized race by Vitus First Tracks. Similar to previous round the day before, there where 4 stages to tackle, with about 50% different from Saturday. Stage 4 will say the one that everyone loved the more as the bottom section was almost dry and although technical, perfectly doable for everyone. Stage 3 with some nasty off-camber roots took the toll on several riders (check sequence below).

All in all, the second round of the Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup was a success, Leah Maunsell was first again on Sunday and Ben Irwin (Mech Monkey) won with 5sec to spare over Gary Donaldson (Vitus First Tracks Race Division). See you soon!
