Finally, we are back racing! After a long hiatus due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Northern Ireland sees its first enduro race, with the first round of the Vitus First Tracks Enduro Cup in Bigwood, Newry.
On a true Irish summer day, conditions were completely different from morning training to afternoon race. Due to all the limitations imposed, social distancing, number of riders and so on, the organization wisely choose to limit the number of participants to 200 riders and at the end 194 showed up. Also as a result of the pandemic, the weekend was split into two races. So instead of the typical Saturday for training and Sunday race, there will be 2 races, one per day, each with approximately 14km, +500m climb and same descent. Each day will have 4 stages, for a total of near 30km and +1000m, with 8 stages to go in two days.
