As program Director, Jones will oversee the Bike School at the Lumberyard and will direct all coaching with guests as well as instructional staff. The Lumberyard features 66,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor riding features and is the only indoor facility of its kind West of the Rockies.

Jones joins the Lumberyard Bike Park after 4 years at Mount Hood Meadows Ski Resort where she managed programming and operations for the resort’s Ski and Snowboard School. She managed 50 instructors serving an average of 200 kids each weekend during the snow season. As the Lumberyard’s Youth Camp Director, Jones will manage an expanded lineup of Summer Camps. “The expertise Rachel brings to the table enables us to dramatically expand our youth programs and brings an elite level of service to our clients,” said Michael Whitesel Co-Founder of the Lumberyard Bike Park.

Since opening its doors in May 2012, Northeast Portland’s Lumberyard Bike Park has developed a variety of year-round offerings of youth programming as part of its expanding “Shred Academy” including “Camps” and “After School Programs”.

The Lumberyard is located in Northeast Portland at 2700 NE 82nd Ave. The park opened in May of 2012 and offers indoor and outdoor BMX and Freestyle Mountain biking to all ages and ability levels. The park is open daily and includes a full restaurant and bar - Sprocket Pizza. More information is found on the company website.

An old Bowling Alley turned indoor bike park, such an awesome place! I've bowled a few frames there. Before the transformation into the Lumberyard, after the Bowling Alley closed, some friends threw a couple electronic music parties in the building that were very fun. Now that the Lumberyard is there I can go there once I get a 26" DJ bike built and learn that place while getting close to the age of 40. Strange how this one building has brought me lots of fun over the years. I don't know Rachel, but her previous experience at Mt. Hood says she's right for the part!
