RAW Video: First Hits at Fest Series Malmedy 2021

Oct 1, 2021
by festseries

After all the waiting for the rain to pass, and things not working out, the 2021 edition of the Malmedy session turned out to be one of the best editions ever. Some next-level riding went down this year, Andreu Lacondeguy was throwing down, as usual, Thomas Genon absolutely killed it on his debut on the Malmedy jumps and William Robert stepped up the game by spinning one of the biggest jumps ever spun.
Hope you all enjoy the video.

The Fest Series.

A video edit? I thought this wasn’t in the spirit of free ride! Shame on FEST

That's not a very nice thing to say, is it?
But I understand that it's probably based on you misunderstanding a few key things.
As long as I've followed it, Fest has always been about rock&roll and sick edits. But they've been into letting the riding speak, rather than YouTubers, contest formats, and sponsors.

Regardless, MTB is awesome, and there's plenty of freeride content to go around. If you enjoy 70% talk and 30% riding, I know a few places you can subscribe rather than fueling some boring MTB cancel culture 3

Imagine if each Fest rider was walking around with their phone, filming themself, then running back to upload it to their Youtube channel to get the max views for themself at the end of the day. It would kind of ruin it. A kind of Truman show for each person. This is what it seems like they are against. I mean, where and when will it stop? So they get filmers to do the job and they are the riders, whether or not that pleases the algorithms, or the avid vlog watchers.

Sorry I'm only into fest series without any media coverage - that way I don't know how sick and badass riders that attend it actually are.

U watch these long enough and you think "Maybe I could do this...." Then I look down from my computer and realize "Je$u$, I've had 8 beers" On a totally separate note, I still can't get used to Andreu without that Red Bull helmet.

Full face + chest protector + jorts with no need pads is styley as f*ck.

Maybe I’m alone, but I completely understand why the fest needed to distance themselves from obnoxious publicity whores, bad music, bad edits, and red bull X games garbage. This is a really beautiful edit. Really stoked on it. The Direction mountain biking is being pushed by the above mentioned forces is sad. So I’m really inspired to see some push back from Vink and crew. You guys are the only ones keepin real.

If a tree falls in the wood and no one was there to hear it, did it actually make a sound?
