Highlights in terms of the riding for me were Mark Wallace destroying the supposedly slower rock section, Blenki styling it off the awkward crest under the gondala and Danny Hart making a spectator poop themselves
Crazy when you hear the top guys like Josh talk about the hardest thing being keeping speed in claggy conditions- most of us would be talking about trying to stay in control not being held back by lack of speed! It's a difference between "how do I gain speed" vs "how do I not lose speed".... insane
I think the most stunning piece of ridership(and suspensionship), was Danny surviving that wicked case-job on the last double/drop. Marzocchi anyone? The mere mortals out here in Spectatorville would have exploded upon impact on that one, with survival unlikely. He bounced out of it like it was just another day at the office, and charged on. Little Beast.
i was at the bottom jump, dany hart was 1 feet away from the crowd on the yellow videotron jump and lost he's speed, the resuly was a major casing and the angle of the camera doesn't represent well the bouncing he manage to control and survived
I liked the little track side forum they had going, after Matt had gone by, "So what do you think guys, should he have been riding at that pressure..?"
dude imagine if Red Bull/UCI/whoever produces this content could string together video for everyone's run just like the new Semenuk "one take" video, instead of chopped-up footage from several stationary cameras.
Mark Wallace gaping that rock section was insane. Only rider to attempt that and he succeeded with flying colors. That was some crazy shit. Guy sure has balls.
I am sure if you run the cables up the hill for them they will film more of the run but I think it's more to do with the intervals between riders limiting how much they can show no?
although the different angle on hart's bouncy bouncy case was quite interesting to see...he held that together superbly...as well as giving a few spectators a scalping
YEEAAAOOOUUUHH!!
Thank You Very Much!
i really needed this,
Bad news from Crested Butte,
Been sick all week long,
had to be in the office early today.
But this video is like a magic pick-me-up pill!
i used to hated gwin for taking the sport so seriously and winning everything, but when you get to know gwin i started to respect him a lot he's no party animal, no alcohol. If you go to the specialized pit, he will sign autograph for the fan and take time for picture too
I still can't figure out the coverage issues? We get to see like 60% of the race. What am I missing on the popularity of this sport? We can't get full coverage? Besides that--another great race that was a blast to watch. Connor's crash was wild.
do you have any idea about the logistics of televising a downhill mountain bike race? and then to let us have it for free? not sure how long you have been watching this sport, but the coverage has never been better.
Ohhhh that's right... everyone is doing this for free out of the goodness of their heart. My bad. As long as you're ok with mediocre then I guess we're good. Also, it was my very first time. Never once seen anything like it. It must be just a massive pro bono event.
yeah rat boy

why don´t they add song names to videos? it should be there just to show respect for the band...
