Big tricks come with massive consequences. Zink got buck wild and ended up doing a double superman. All the pressure was on Brett Rheeder today to win all three Crankworx Joyride events and he couldn't quite hold on. Everyone wished to see Brett put down a clean run, and he wanted it bad. All that aside, Brett finished his run with some crowd pleasing ninja skills.

Price to pay for so cold blood... imagine with normal blood and you´re as good as him you would be so stoked after your 3rd trick in your run it would be impossible to keep it together until the end... So what´s up folks?... enjoy the show this devil brings us and sh*t up!

What a miserable c*nt, I mean really. If be chuffed at least or a big grin? He looks like a bulldog licking piss off a thistle!

how comes its acceptable to rip into gee atherton for not smiling but a disgrace to say so about Semenuk, in all seriousness, please help me understand?
  • 3 2
I'm pretty sure these guys would smile a lot more if they were racing/tricking "private" events like fest, or hardline.
i.e. Look at the finish line : they have to follow the order of a "media girl" who tell them what turn to do, where to stop, where to watch, and when they can leave...
Plus, they have to answer boring or uncomfortable questions " you crashed in your first run, now you're in trouble for the win, how are you going to overcome the stress/pressure im putting on you and improve your score?"
  • 2 2
Cheers Theeeeoooo - not sure. If it was a one off, fair play - but doesn't he know how to smile?
  • 3 1
Zede, there is literally no difference between the media coverage in UCI race events and slopestyle events, im also struggling to see how following orders works as a valid excuse... if I'd just won the Whistler slopestyle and I had to wait for my cue to get on the top podium im still gonna be grinning insanely, Rogatkin and Genon would have had the same treatment and they still look pretty stoked! At the end of the day any event in any sport will near enough have the same process, someone gives you the cue for when you go onto the podium and thats not a reason to not smile. Cunning, I sort of picked up on it after Les2Alpes, obviously I got downvoted for pointing it out tho! I get that not getting number one spot could be demoralizing, BUT DAWG THATS WHAT COMPETITION IS, just look at downhill, the podium is constantly changing and theres just no point predicting winners. Obviously ive watched racers and riders shit themselves whilst they're in the hotseat but as soon as they're on the podium its all smiles..
  • 1 1
@Theeeeo It is almost as if some people are different from others. Who are you to rag on how his face shows emotion? He was saying how stoked he was, it didn't seem like he was lying. If he didn't love competition he would probably not do it. When you are on the Crankworx podium you can smile all you like or give us all the finger. At the end of the day it would be up to you how you dealt with that situation, not us to some anonymous commenters on some internet forum.
  • 2 1
well maybe he has one of the most potent resting bitch faces the MTB world has ever seen. Also, I feel like you're making a dig at my chances of ending up on a crankworx podium, when I somehow end up there, I will dedicate 2 middle fingers just to you, good sir.
  • 1 0
@Theeeeo first you did not understand what I said. Second, you probably don't know anything about performing in front of an audience.
Some people are born as "showmen", they like to speak, they like to be filmed, they like the crowd, and some hate this kind of stuff. I don't know Semenuk, or CG, but I would say they are probably a good example of this difference.

your whole paragraph was pointless

reward for a broken collar bone is a massive wedgie

Just realized that if we had seen someone bump Brandon and he had to one-up his run, I think we would have seen Cork 7 Barspin and then Flip-whip to Can on the two big trick jumps, as well as the flat drop can flip off of the cabin. Almost a bummer no one pushed him to do it!
