RED BULL

FLASH FLOODS

RAMPAGE

Stormy days and rain delays left everyone who is involved with Red Bull Rampage, from event organizers, to builders, to athletes, a little on edge wondering if the event will go on. As campsites were evacuated and flash flood warnings put in place today, campers and crew took refuge in Mexican restaurants, crowded trailers, and packed vehicles for mini road trips. Tourist attractions from Springdale to Virgin to Hurricane and beyond have never been hit so hard on a foul weather day.

Nothing to do but hang and wait and cross his fingers. Doerfling sits in 8th place after his first qualifying run. As long as the rain holds off there s no doubt riding and hopefully the rest of qualifying will go down tomorrow. However if the dirt balls up on the tires halfway down the course stopping won t be an option.

Compared to his height, Jackson's whip is probably at the same height as the rampage competitors' xD

I AM ANGRY. I LIKE POETRY:

me and my bicycle
are in a queer relation
at least in the state of running
at high speed it keeps balance
but off balance my life becomes
while I drive at low speed

me and my life
now at loggerheads
at least in the matter of speed
my life runs well like a bicycle
but at the age of forty
I could not afford high speed
upon putting much efforts
I develop back pain.

Good try Pinkbike but you dont fool me. The kids name is not Jackson.......his real name is Clark Kent and Andrew must be his cousin from Krypton!! great to see young guns keeping our sport alive. The gods will dance tomorrow.

So when are the under 16's gonna get their own 'Mini Rampage, and an amateur event for older 'locals' and visitors? While the pro's are in town perhaps you could organise a Q&A session, this woud give locals and kids etc the chance to meet their heros and have their pictures taken, maybe even raffle off some kit.
There aren't too many sports these days where fans can mix with their idols.
Looking forward to some epic action!!

I like your idea. Many have asked us (Bootleg Canyon Gravity Racing) to put on an amateur Rampage at Bootleg Canyon. The Bird kids killed it at our last race there. The only major problem I see, is not letting people make their own lines. Let us think on this and hope for November 2015? Looking forward to watching the big event later today though. Good luck to all!

That's what happened. It's called Fanpage, sponsored by Mtn. Ranks. It was supposed to be more than a jump jam, but you can see we were lucky to pull anything off. We'll be back.

Rumor has it the officials invited Jackson Goldstone to compete but the unity of riders said no because they don´t want to be made to look silly.
This kid is amazing!

A little gutted as I flew down for rampage from canada and my flight leaves tmrw morning. Could hardly afford trip as is. So in order to stay and see event it will likely cost about another $1200. What does a guy do at this point?

shit! sucks bro Frown what about a prolonged train ride? any chance to exchange the ticket?

talk to redbull, they might be able to hook it up. probably not, but it's worth a shot.
  • + 9
Talk to redbull about it, it really sucks that this happened, but whatever you do, dont be a dumbass and amass $1200 of credit card debt like that retard above me suggested. Also, talk to whatever airline it is and see if you can exchange the ticket

I couldn't watch rampage live one day and NOT ride Utah the next. Hell I can't not ride here on shit trails I had to build because I have been watching all this building all week. I could go to work after Rampage but have called the boss at work to request annual leave on a super busy day after a long weekend. My trail is right next to work and I will probably get fired if someone sees me riding. My family will be homeless.

No way, it rains Chocolate in Utah?!? ps Jackson that whip was rad.
  • + 2
...my parents made me play football when I was little instead of getting me into mtb like all good parents. That's my excuse for not competing at rampage this year--what's yours?
  • + 10
 I suck.
  • + 2
I say it'a Bernard Kerr'a fault; he was in Morzine the week we were there in July and it rained hard all week too!
Only jesting, Bernard is a top man and hope he does well when Rampage happens ☺

Let those kids compete in the main event !
  • + 6
they're amazing riders for their age and will be great when they're older, but hitting a hip jump in a jam and riding an entire badass balls to the wall rampage run are two completely different things. They'll be there one day
  • + 11
@willjones35 : it was joke... Frown
  • + 9
It would probably be a crime against humanity to have kids tumbling down the sides of mountains.
  • + 1
They do have parents... who are PROBABLY not so into that idea....
