Sunday was the 15th edition of Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo, stop of City Downhill World Tour. The event congregated over 15 thousand spectators, who challenged the sun and hot conditions to see the best riders in the world passing different obstacles of the circuit starting in Cerro Carcel and finishing at the bottom of Cerro Alegre were the hot spot chair was waiting for the fastest rider.
At 11 am begun the track familiarization and training rounds were the riders could find the best line to entry the jumps, wall rides, and high to low spots of the circuit and set up their bikes the best way possible to conquer them.
The classification round started at 14.45 pm with 39 riders who fought to be one of the fastest 15 and get a spot in the final round. Tomas Slavik came on top finishing the circuit in 2 minutes 48 seconds. The second place was for Bernard Kerr (GB) who completed the circuit in 2.50 and third place was to Pedro Ferreira (CL) with 2.52.
This new edition of Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo got new jumps and sections in the track, it started as always at the top of Cerro Carcel going through iconic places as Bocaccio stairs, Bismarck square, Atahualpa Street to end in the classic finish line at Aníbal Pinto square.
