Reed Boggs Will Be Competing at Red Bull Rampage

We have confirmation that Utah-based Reed Boggs will compete at Red Bull Rampage on October 15th.

Moments after teeing up his biggest flip yet, Reed Boggs got a call from Red Bull Rampage's Todd Barber letting him know that there was a position available for him to compete. Finals are taking place in just over two weeks, with building starting well before then. Reed Boggs was a rookie at Red Bull Rampage in 2019 and finished in 11th spot, just missing the pre-qualification.

It looks like Boggs is up to speed already as he stomped this 51 foot step down backflip this morning filming for a film project by Craig Grant called ‘Riding off Cliffs’. Sterling Lorence captured this beauty shot on site and Boggs shared a POV clip on Instagram.

We can't wait to watch Boggs compete.

 Its interesting how much bigger this 51ft drop looks than the 50ft drop jaxson riddle hit last week. 1ft makes all the difference.

 I going to assume you’re joking. And if so, ignore the rest of this comment.

But Jaxson’s was 50ft from take-off to flat where he landed. If he’d landed where he was supposed to the drop would’ve been ~25ft vertically. Reed’s is 50ft (assuming tip to tip) so his drop is probably ~35-40ft vertically depending on geometry. That’s why they look different.

 Sucks that Emil isn’t in there but at the same time I think that his style is better suited for slopesyle rather than freeride, because while what he is doing on all bikes is amazing I feel that his extremely complex and precise style is extremely unrelatable and very much incomprehensible to the untrained eye. While the classic style of going big and massive hucks off giant cliffs is much more relatable and easier to wrap your head around than supper technical tricks. But that’s just my opinion and I understand that a lot of people including myself, like to see the crazy complicated tricks and perfect style that Emil has.

 Tell that to Semenuk, 3 time winner. Emil’s style is in that same vein.

 Semenuk has a much larger big bike resume than most all slopestyle athletes. It was cool to see emil in it last time but get both of these guys on big bikes and trails and you'll see that brandon is quite seasoned on the downhill bikes compared to emil. Not saying emil cant rip cause if you can get down those courses in one piece and throw tricks you're obviously very good, but imo it's not even close between brandon and most of the other slope athletes when it comes to the big bikes.

And it's not even just about how to handle yourself on a big bike. Lot of it is like.. determining/digging what's going to feel big/cool/insane on a mountain bike. Brandon's had quite a bit of time spent building jumping and just doing ridiculous shit growing up and I think he has a lot to bring to the table when it comes to showcasing interesting/creative/batshit insane ways to get down a mountain.
