Its been a long hot summer here in BC. Record numbers of forest fires have had us praying for rain and fall can't come soon enough. Check out OneUp team rider Remi Gauvin shredding Squamish in all its dank glory. Get stoked, hero dirt is coming.
If you showed me that video 15 years ago I would have been very confused. Is that what music sounds like in 2017? What's with that ugly helmet? Do we ride DH on single crown forks now? Why did they build a road with berms and allow bike son it? How did they afford a helicopter to film the last 10 seconds?
@NYShred: that's a huge compliment to Remi's riding! And you're right—I do play with footage speed for editing effects, like the backwards camera movement at the start of the Half Nelson stuff... but no, none of the actual riding footage is sped up. Remi is just that quick, especially on his home trails.
Its not a compliment at all because Remi probably doesn't even know that you did it. When footage looks like 1920's Charlie Chaplin jerky sped up footage its noticeably different than the alternative angles where its normal speed. It's ok, noone will ever know right? but you know you chopped off a couple FPS here and there...
Look between 40-44seconds before the puddle splash - that shit is comedy. Same with the drop at 50-51secs.
That was so rad. This video and Melamed's Whistler Steeps video are easily my favorite videos this year. Just incredible talent in front of and behind the lens. Keep pumping 'em out, Peter!
So many slayers in vids on trails like this and I can see why.
Great riding and camera work, video just made me sad my time in BC was so dusty and cut short by fires.
Sweeeeeet, and that people is how to use slow motion, just highlighting momentary snapshots we admire rather than spending a third of a video on one long drawn out slow mo scene. Wish there were more amazing vids like this.
Superb riding and filming...that's how I wish I could ride! However, the music felt very disconnected from the images and didn't match the pace, dynamic or rythm of the riding...to the point that I thought I had left some obscure Chill mix on in the background... Secondly, without the One Up Logo at the end of the film I would not have known what type of promotion I had just seen. For Rocky? For Urge? For Squamish? For Forestry? For bridge building? I don't really care as I'm not here to watch ads, but just food for thought.

What song is that?
