Too often we tend to associate Rémy Metailler with Whistler Bike Park. That's why, when Remy suggested we join him for a trip to Hafjell (Norway) to discover the bike park which is another reference among the best ones in the world, we did not hesitate. It was a breath of fresh air and an opportunity to break the daily routine for Remy. He has done his usual things; broke down the bike park into sections and rode all of them up to his taste, his speed, and his style. Each bike park is different, but Remy has one vision for all of them. The aura of Hafjell really inspires!

bigquotesAfter seeing Remy's previous edits, and his sick riding, we were really stoked when we heard that they wanted to shoot a new edit here in Hafjell. We had a great time together here, and we were really impressed with his bike skills. He did pretty much every thinkable gap in the bike park, and some stuff no one had ever thought of before or even imagined when we built these trails. - Knut Jorgen Lokas, Hafjell bike park manager

Remy: so if I take off here and land wayyyy down here on the map
Bike Park Manager: uhm....

Remi is fast no matter where he rides? I think we came to that conclusion when he bombed his Rampage line faster than I can pick my nose.

Nobody tolds him that is not a race.

 ...dont be fooled !!!
At the start of the season after maintenance its great... That's it. (apart from rollercoaster, a great jump trail with little brake bumps... Most of where this edit was filmed).
The park is sick and has some really cool trails, unfortunately they have seen better days and are super tired / washed out.

@gdr-inc: you have to be joking or you are Polish. The only irritating brake-bump bit is the steep bit after joining of Park Loypa and Roller Coaster. Then maybe there are two or three spots on the lower part below the chair lift, but who the hell rides there more than twice per day? Ones on Boldre and Expressen, you just plow through them, they are made by Joeys slowing down to turns and jumps to which you don't need to slow down.
  • 1 0
@gdr-inc: Man you are definitely spoiled. I've been there in mid July and the trails were perfect, sure here and there some bumps but nothing to worrie about. Come to Lenzerheide/Serfaus/Leogang or pretty much any other bikepark and you will cherish the f*ck out of Hafjell!

Fantastic! When you can clear the road gap on the World Cup track in Hafjell then you know you've made it in mountain biking. It means you can squash a jump most people would overjump as hell at such speed, then you can corner like a boss, then bunny hop almost like Danny McAskill and finally take a berm like Bubba.
  • 3 3
 Nicely put
  • 2 2
@Sponger: I rode that bit of Expressen like 4 times total. And each time I did it, it felt more insane to me.
  • 12 0
@WAKIdesigns: He's so good he's sponsored by BOS (on the jersey) and FOX (on the bike)
  • 1 0
@makripper: I think he's actually sponsored by vorsprung, so umm yeah
  • 4 0
I literally took that jump to the berm and broke my wrist

Although i love riders like semenuk, nico vink, and brendog, i can honestly say remy is my favorite rider. He has such a unique riding style. While other riders have a thrasher metal vibe to their riding, his calm smooth vibe that reminds me of classic hip hop.

 Love that soundtrack too.

I love Hafjell but the problem is there is absolutely nothing to do there after the lift closes.
  • 11 2
Go to Strömstad and load your car to the ceiling. Huts are perfect for partying. Also in June-August, you can ride AM on the plateau until 23:00. You wake up, ride lifts 10-13, eat lunch, take a nap, watch a movie, eat dinner, take a nap, 20:00 you ride up, take a long AM ride, go down the park, 24:00, you're in the bed. Repeat.

You just don't have enough friends there. Razz #sigøynern
  • 1 0
@WAKIdesigns: Fishing in the upper plateau wetlands there is pretty awesome as well, never caught that many nice trouts in my life before.
  • 1 0
@megatryn: I don't have any friends there at all. Not sure why that makes me a gypsy? And its hard to get any people who are not regular bikers to come along when all there is to do is hang out at some hut. Maybe Lillehammer is a better place to stay overnight because Hafjell is dull.
  • 2 0
@beerandbikes: By #sigøynern I mean Sigøynercampen, which is the free camping spot at the bottom of the lift. If you don't have anything to do, hang out there and you'll meet new friends and have fun, guaranteed! Also. Buy a big tent and stay there for free. They have free power, showers and wifi.
  • 1 0
@megatryn: Thanks. That's a good tip and does sound like fun.

I want him to change outfits mid-air. Tired of that same yellow/black kit. Needs to swap kit in mid-boost. It's the next level.
  • 5 0
Is he sponsored by BOS or FOX? his jersey says BOS but his bike says FOX
  • 1 1
 or rock shox ...
  • 3 0
He was sponsored by BOS - but now sponsored by Vorsprung Suspension. He can now chose any suspension brand with help from Vorsprung, and has chosen FOX

Diggin the riding as well as the instrumental hip hop - sorely lacking in recent years!
  • 2 1
Litterly I thought, another techno song... then, they cut the song and start playing one of my favorite tracks!! it was like a breath of fresh air, thank you. nice edit!
  • 3 1
Everything about this video and these photos is rad! Remy is a worldwide bike park killer
  • 3 1
His riding is so smooth... and he whips like a GOAT!!!! Seeya at the Hafjell WC stop! Oh wait
  • 1 0
Brings back great memories. Second trip ever to a bike park, first time riding a DH bike. Changed me forever. Can't wait to go back.

Piece of exquisite downhill. After watching this video the only thing I can say is (with hypnotized eyes) buy Commencal Buy Commencal. But IMHO their bikes worth it!
  • 3 1
A chill and humble dude who rips harder than almost anyone. Don't understand why he doesn't race WC....
  • 6 0
According to Roots and Rain he's entered three races but never qualified
  • 6 0
Yeah he's fast for sure, but he doesn't seem to be world cup fast, which just goes to show ridiculously quick the WC guys are.
  • 1 0
Because he isnt fast enough. Check his recent crankworx results. Making a video and looking fast is completely different than racing.
  • 2 0
That salmon's over done. Shame. Just goes to show you can't be good at everything.

This and Field Trippin' With Martin Söderström and Dawid Godziek - great week for vid's!

I dream to ride like remy
  • 2 0
So the park is staying open?
  • 2 0
am i the only one who wanted to see more of remy on that bobsled track?
  • 2 0
His whole POV run down is on facebook. Sorry I can't link you right now
  • 2 0
go to his profile, it's there. he released it about a week ago, the whole run
  • 2 1
I wonder how much RaceFace paid for him to wear those "hand booties"? Go Remy!
  • 2 0
Once again! Commencal showing whats fun and someone dreamlife!
  • 2 0
F-ing 'ell! Looking pinned as usual, Rémy!
  • 3 2
Sooooo looooose! This guy seems ready to kill it at rampage tho !
  • 2 2
Not gonna comment rider's skills but kinda of lack of good lightning ruined the movie :/
  • 1 0
Sick... Mr propre, a pleasure to see your ride
  • 6 6
I liked the video, but I liked the less bullshit more riding videos better... Overproduced?
  • 2 0
 Oh. My. God.
  • 1 0
This dude is aggressive on the bike! Always looking to huck everything.
  • 1 0
 Flat out'n big air'n style, love watchin' him shred it;
  • 1 0
The hype was real in the beginning
  • 1 0
I love how he sails over the brake bumps, like slow down, who me?
  • 3 2
Nice riding, shame he was such a tool in whistler last season...
  • 1 1
Remy should find Hardline a walk in the park
  • 1 0
 whats the song name?
  • 1 0
Quantic - Time Is The Enemy
  • 4 4
His edits are always just so enjoyable to watch. Does he race?
  • 8 1
last place in qualifying for MSA. yup.
  • 1 2
thanks, lots of Remi's to keep track of. Glad he's in the mix. obviously a highly skilled and driven athlete
  • 8 0
@makripper: probably cause I have issues with my both front arms and can't hold on a bike. A race result is not representative at 100% of your capability on a bike.
  • 2 2
@remymetailler: I was surprised to see your name on the MSA list at all. You rip lines that few WC racers would hit and flow through terrain with genius. Forget WC, keep ripping free ride and your fans will be there for us!
  • 1 0
 @remymetailler: for YOU* I mean.
  • 1 0
@remymetailler lol that's sucks man. Shit happens.
  • 2 1
@makripper: Don't listen to Remy, he's just being polite. The truth is he just knows how much racing really matters. Smile
  • 3 4
Great video, there is a typo in the subtitle off the main PB page FYI
  • 3 5
As a racer he is a good video rider. kkk
