Video: A Day at the Coast Gravity Park with Remy Metailler

Jul 24, 2019
by Rémy Métailler

The Coast Gravity Park offers some of the best bike riding in the world. Built in partnership with the guys from the Coastal Crew and taking the inputs from various top riders, these trails are top level.

Watch me cruise around during one day the back in March. Located on the Sunshine Coast, this shuttle service park runs almost all year long depending on the snow. Sunshine Coast usually does not get much snow and it is for me a great way to ride jumps before heading to the urban downhill races!

Stoked for more riding there this winter!

Sold! Moving out of my cubicle and into a van right now, and leaving for Canada.

Do it!!! Best decision I ever made. 10 years ago I had 153 new emails before lunch. It hit me that my life sucked and wasn't going to change unless I changed it. I slammed my laptop (back then that made noise) and yelled, "I'm done!" Then I walked out the front door... Disclaimer: You can't move to Canada, but you can get pretty close.

@mtbikemccoy: pretty sure you get 180 days in a row per year, or basically any time for not more than 180 days in a row. That’s almost like moving here. Then it gets so effin cold no one wants to be here.

@bholton: Have you been to the coast!? Most of the states gets colder than here. You're thinking of Ontario, not sure why anyone would want to be there to begin with..

@mtbikemccoy: It's actually my plan. I'm saving for the van right now. I know to the day, how many days I will have to work before I can leave it all behind and hit the road.

@freekandy: I wasted my first 27 years in Atlanta. We're now in Sandpoint, Idaho loving life. I get across the boarder about 20-30 days a year camping or in a condo with the family. So, how many days away are you? I'll put it on my calendar and then message you when it's moving day!

@mtbikemccoy: That's great! It's safe to say I maybe started my countdown early, haha. I'm looking at a moving out right around Halloween, 2020. As in literally October 31st or November 1st. It's helping a lot right now having the plan and goal, like all that mandatory overtime at work? I'll take it all, please and thank you.

Cool! Don't live in the van though. Had a buddy try that. Quit his job and lived in a pimped out Eurovan. Didn't go South for the winter and ended up crashing with me in the island for two months. Other than that, great decision that you should make.

His tendency for speeding up footage is hotly contested, however. This is yet another glaring example.

@myfriendgoose: hours and years of training and riding and pushing outside of your comfort zone will make you fast enough so you don't have to speed up anything.
