Sam has been on 650B wheels all year, with the exception of Cairns because the 650B Pulse wasn't ready yet. He rode a custom 650B Mega AM in Pietermaritzburg.
Actually he's on 26. Vital did a bike check with him a few weeks ago and he is running full aluminum frame on flats with 26" wheels and total build weighs 38.7lbs give or take a few ounces. To be more correct.
FOR f*ck'S SAKE why would you check comments when you know most of them are cheering the winner ??? just watch the damn (live) replay and quit whining about spoilers because you are messing with it when you choose to read the comments
Click the link to watch. And boom. Its there. There result. That's lame. Its not like I had a choice. Why would I go looking for it when I don't want to see it.
I cheered for Sam and i said that on here. now everbodys calling me a "spoiler" And when everbody else said the same thing i said too. Just cheering for sam and watching a great race. No hurt feelings @fla3h. It's just a darn mtb race. not the end of the world
Damit guys. Looking at the comments is like clicking on the "results" article and then being pissed when there's a spoiler. And it's not the end of the world you can still enjoy the awesome riding!
awww, now THAT's a spoiler! haha. never made that connection even though i've been waching ever wc replay on pinkbike for a year or 2 now. I'll have to have someone else click the link for me next time.
Red Bull....SHOOT YOUR PROGRAMMERS!!!! They need to learn to write code for the player so it buffers more before display or something. (No I.T. guy so that's all I have). Man the Red Bull player SUCKS!! Hahaha!
I was sad in Fort Bill that Troy did beat Sam, but seeing Troy cheering for Sam and being super supportive there on a podium just made me happy.... The fight between Zmaster and Student is still on
I'm so confused - don't know whats more exciting - Hill winning, Ratboy's run or the fact its only a short wait until the next race - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Somebody called that a "mans track". And indeed it is. However, the ladies times (compared to the gents) are preeeeetty damn fast. Manon is up there in the mens field among guys who are the best of the best in their respective country. Good on the ladies, nice work!
Well, this morning, I put on my Sam Hill 5.10s, and thought, "yeah, he's gonna win it." Guess what? He did. What does that mean? That I happened to have bought a pair of shoes inspired by a legend, nothing else.*
lightest bike-no
clips-no
still smoked everyone - yep.
Now can we stop thinking clips and weight weenie bikes make any difference. If you have a decent bike and ride what makes you comfortable you can win.
Goddam, such awesome race! We need another world cup DVD please someone!!!!!!!!!! ???????????? This season has ben amazing, different winner inn every race , almost anyone can take it!
2nd place was on 26... I don't give a rats ass but 2nd was on 26. I'd be interested to see some real time splits and comparisons in the wheel sizes. Not trying to start a debate!! Just interested in the real difference.
650b may be faster (not proven yet) )but nobody can convince me they are more fun to ride than 26". I hope manufacturers realize that and keep producing 26" frames, forks, rims, etc.. for 'old-fashioned' riders like me
After re watching he says last man to win a world cup on 26... team kona is still only team on 26... etc. my bad. Still interested in the difference though.
Sam has been on 650B wheels all year, with the exception of Cairns because the 650B Pulse wasn't ready yet. He rode a custom 650B Mega AM in Pietermaritzburg. He's been on a 650B Pulse since Fort William.
Must be a hard day for some marketing dudes. :-)
Oh and 3:01 for the Gee haters.... he was all smiles
Manon carpenter is venus!
They should make beautiful catepillar eyebrowed babies
GO SARACEN! AND LONG LIVE SAM HILL & FLAT PEDALS!!!
Well done, Sam! Super stoked for ya, congrats!
*though my ride this morning was g&ddamn good.
