He came down between riders during the finals... Hope he's okay... I don't think the officials knew because they sent Steve Peat down and he had to stop... So my guess is the rider jumped on the bike without telling anyone official? I have a pic of Peaty stopped and looking back to see what was happening... He was stretcher end off course by foot... Did nt look good.
Hopefully Brayton's leg break is clean and with no complications and he'll be back up and riding again soon. That's the story here and not some tit doing something he obviously wasn't capable of doing. The course Marshall's should have stepped in and kept the bike at one of their points until the runs were finished. Partial blame should be levelled at the UCI clerk of the course and course staff for even allowing this to happen and the rest goes on the bloke himself.
thats debatable,... some say he died on the cross, others say he was in a cave for three days, then came back to life........still others insist he moved to the south of france with mary and had kids.
he could be alive these days............he would be in need a a beard trim and a bath if he was still alive these days though.......
evidentlly he didn't show up in cairns to help gwin win like he did in south africa, ........maybe jesus couldn't get his passport figured out for the trip down under?
...and another important point... ALWAYS wear a helmet and brace, especially when your riding down a course designed for the UCI World Cup's elite... on someone else's bike.
Actually, just don't do it.
"Specialized will be introducing their new downhill bike at Fort William" --Rob Warner Note, he did not say Demo. The Demo is a bike that has taken down two of the world's best riders, both in their prime. I wouldn't be surprised if the name didn't return.
brosnan honestly looked really awkward on that enduro, didnt seem like the right bike for the day. cant wait to see what specialized has cooked up for fort william though!
Crazy that Spesh doesn't seem to have faith anymore in the Demo.
Stoked to see Santa Cruz sitting the whole team in the top 9. Those dudes are holding it down... and still rocking 26 in wheels.
@ kabanosipyvo: Did you remember the world champions of 2011? elite en junior? i believe that sam hill and troy were both riding a demo. in 2010 and 2011 sam hill dominated the wc's so stop talking bullshit about the demo! And indeed the design of the demo maybe a little bit old and heavy against the other brands but it is no shit at all.
@freakinbob Not talking bullshit, just stating facts. You may want to check your own: 2011 World Champion in DH was Danny Hart...how could anyone forget that run in Champerey? Sam Hill Hardly dominated in 2010 (final top 3 were Atherton, Minnaar, Gwin) or 2011 (final top 3 Gwin, Minnaar, Atherton). Sam DID win the World Championship in 2010, but after that he didn't break the top 3 in a WC until joining with Nukeproof last year. The last time he dominated was in 2009...his one and only good year with Specialized.
Specialized has some good bikes, but it is questionable whether the most recent Demo is one of them.
Mate that is a great vid - definitely captures the atmosphere and how big the crowd is. Plus your camera angles are more interesting & show more of the track than the redbull feed which is cool. The whoops section is much tougher & faster than I first thought.
The fact we have any coverage from redbull at all is great, but as they obviously have a limited cameras it's daft they wasted two on the final boring pedal.
Video is UP!!!! and definitely Red Bull what's ya caper mate? I said to a course marshall today that they should have GoPros strapped to the heads of all the marshals, will get almost every corner and most marshals were recording with their phones!!!
Cheers psyickphuk for the big ups on the video, will get a go pro run hopefully next week, when the circus ups and leaves.
…and yep those whoops are tough, especially hitting them at full speed just after landing a massive booter!
Really thought that would have been a section they would focus on. And the angle in the rock garden could have been better. We missed most of the spills.
I was at the whoops section all day... I'll post my vids up on YouTube... Give me a week to get it sorted... Working away from home now for a week but I'll get it up when I'm back. I was in a pretty good spot... The pro photographers found my spot and told me it was the best place to be by far!
Our girls are bad asses for sure !
I just wish all the riders , men and women would get more mainstream media coverage , if they were shaving legs , doing borderline illegal drugs and cycling up hills winning all the time they would be knighted...
Messier than cooking a microwave burger in a trouser press! Warner your reaching as of yet unheard levels of banter, we expect a statement from no 10 shortly...
Really? The replay isn't worth watching? You're sitting on your ass at home complaining that you aren't getting a LIVE FEED from the side of a mountain/jungle in monsoon conditions. Plz stfu about bad coverage, we are lucky there is any coverage at all.
Coverage is always good. I know Redbull try their best to cover the most action. I wish they would place the cameras in better spots/angless. Looking up at the rock garden would have been better.
Streamed fine for me , few tiny green screens and a little jumpy at times but it is on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PLANET in a jungle being played live so good job I say !
I think we have every right to moan about the coverage- the chosen camera positions were rubbish! To get all those people and equipment half way up a mountain and then choose those spots is retarded!
Did anybody else have issues with the stream? Watching the replay it appears that my stream only started at around minute 17 or so. Anybody else encounter that? Also, what's up with the coverage of the Women's race? For some of the last riders they only showed the start and then the pedal section at the end; not exactly downhill-y, if you know what I mean. I would have liked to see a bit more of the actual race, not just start and finish. Also, what was up with the technical hick-ups during the transmission?
Thanks for the footage! Wish they showed a bit more of the track though.... Still good anyways.
Cant believe that guy kept pinning it after he tacoed his front wheel in the rock garden, that was nuts... Should be a trophy for that haha
Such an interesting track. I was hoping for better camera angles, like the whoop section at least, but what we did get 4 angles of the pedal section at the bottom! Most of the time it skipped to 3 minutes in from the start gate!
If they are gonna do it, (dont get me rong, i love watching it) I wish they would do it properly.
VIDEO is online!!!…just thinking then, look out dangerous. But why Red Bull, only 2 cameras at the top? no big boaters, no whoops, no cyclone??? WHAT!!!!
Really Redbull? You can't afford to pay for 3 or 4 more camera positions?...times must be hard selling your donkey piss in a can. But thanks for the free coverage all the same, at least we get to see it. Pity Eurosport don't mtfu and get with the program
that course sucked for TV viewers take it off the World Cup circuit that was an extremely boring race to watch... i hate to be such a asshole about it but its just wasnt enjoyable to watch
And at every other race SPDs have been the only ones on the podium. Whats your point? Flats are good in thick mud. SPDs are good in every other situation.
Can't say fairer than that!

Here is my take on the whole DH affair today. Rock garden wasn't fully covered in the SBS segment, so here goes my edit, check it and shred it
