 Time to retire Mick
  • 29 2
@Cashman39: No, not for Mick...but time for a Kyle Strait WC DH comeback!!! One more season plzzzzzzz!!!
  • 19 1
@dh-corn: Kintner Come back for a full WC season! 4+ seconds up!!
  • 12 2
@cirKus: guys dont forget this is AirDH its an easy Jumptrack they ride. so Pumptrack Race on DH Bikes down the Hill.
  • 3 0
Wasn't he also scary fast at the US Open?
  • 12 6
Kyle Strait is the most gifted mountain biker. The guy is natural talent. We forget that too often.
  • 4 1
@Braench: he placed 8th at the last US Open DH, that track was not what I would call a pumptrack
  • 6 0
@Cashman39: As Peaty once said - I'll race as long as someone pays me to race."
  • 1 0
 @Arierep: jr WP champ also.
  • 2 0
@Braench: you realize it’s more difficult to pull time on a track like this?
  • 6 0
@cirKus: It's pretty much mandatory that we do this everytime Jill smashes everyone at Crankworx, but she raced WC DH 5-10 years ago. A few podiums, but usually in the 5-12 range. Mad bike skills, but the best in the world at DH are better than her - at DH. No disrespect intended - sick rider.
  • 1 0
@Arierep: just went for results, actually he was 21st (2019 WINTER PARK) but still he is flawless on bike.
  • 1 1
@neimbc: unfortunately Peaty had one season too many also.
  • 1 0
@Cashman39: True, but I guess for most athletes that last season you realize you haven't got it or lost the drive. Mik has been fading, and not making a few qualifiers last year, but when that happens more often than he makes them, it's time. Not everyone can be a Minnaar.
  • 1 0
@Arierep: OK, somehow I have missread and went from US Open (Rheeder was 14th O_o) to U.S. National Downhill Championships where Lyle was 21st.

 Yeah Blenki!

Those pedals on the air must have done the diference finally!

Good day to be riding a Norco I guess!

Lyle Strait “get lit not fit” beats half the full time DH riders, love it
  • 5 3
You are hallucinating. As we all know from reading Pinkbike (+comments), the most important thing for being fast on a bike is how fit you are and how much time you spend in the gym.
  • 7 1
 @Ttimer:

Naw, it's how meaty your paws are.
  • 2 2
@Ttimer: if you saw him in a gym you were probably hallucinating I’ve only seen him drink beer, eat tacos and kick ass. Also get lit not fit are his words not mine I just read it off his stem cap
  • 3 0
If Lyle went to the gym the rest of the world would cower in fear. That dude is such a beast and such an incredible bike handler. Chuck Norris who?
  • 2 3
 “Lyle” @Trudeez:

@Trudeez: I don’t know what his training is like, but the dudes arms and back are huge

I remember Kintner saying last year she wasn't gonna compete much at crankworx because she had won everything so she was gonna focus on things like Enduro... Fast forward through last season and she did what 2 Enduros and opted out of trophy of nations....

Her caption on instagram today was "I'm baaaack" while standing on the podium... Well shit Jill you weren't gone that long lol
  • 1 1
I thought she got injured and that was why she didn't do as many events. Could be wrong, but that's what I remember.
  • 3 0
@jojotherider1977: don't remember an injury. I believe she got sick right before one of the Enduros which is the DNF she got as far as I remember.

But it's a new year and she doesn't do the NZ Enduro but races the Air DH....

I always thought Bas was Canadian???
  • 2 0
He lives in BC but his dad went to dental school in the US so that’s where he picked up his USness.
  • 2 0
Yeah I thought he d either fight for Dutch or Canadians but now 'mericans ? so he has 3 citizenships ... interesting
  • 2 0
And he was born in the Netherlands or something
  • 1 0
@makripper: he may have been born in the US while Edsard was specializing. I forget. They were our neighbors in Kelowna when they came to a Canada.

I have a slight panic attack when I see Crankworx results posted while I'm asleep. The only thing that makes me feel better it's remembering there's no fantasy league.

Tomas! Yes! I had the privilege of talking extensively with Tomas between our dual slalom practice and qualification runs at Crankworx Whistler 2019 — what a super cool dude...so nice, soooo fast, so encouraging too (my first race after spinal cord injury from snowboarding years ago), and he was also one of the few also on a 26” bike (and he loved my 1996 Troy Lee Daytona helmet, that I wore as a throwback for fun, that he remembered sold for $1000 in Europe when it came out). He made my whole weekend so memorable...I’ve only met a few other people as thoughtful and joyful and friendly as him in the MTB world. And surprisingly, a few of them were there too — Mick Hannah (he was in love with my 2003 Hope Bulb / Mavic D521 wheels with silver DT Alpine 3 spokes), Bubba Warren (what an awesome rider and he was likewise exceedingly nice, thoughtful, and insanely fast), and Bubba’s girlfriend Kialani Hines was super cool and encouraging. I’m still in awe of their character and the amazing vibe at the event — the scene has changed since my prime pro days, and I can say it’s now something extraordinary!

  • 8 5
Because Air dh are boring to watch.
  • 3 0
@Clem-mk: you must be easily bored.
  • 1 1
@Larkey1: yes watched it one time and I disliked it (best part was kinter or brown losing grip) ! If I want know who is the strongest at pedaling, xco is a good show nowadays. There are tons of a-line like videos well edited why watch this.

Yep. She can only get faster as she gets more used to the MTB.
