My comment was supposed to be laughing faces

Where is Sam Hill after stage 2!?!
  • 2 0
 @mtbmaniatv: won stage 2 by 25 seconds.
  • 1 0
@thenotoriousmic: Holy Smokes!! Marcelo with a 10 second lead on Bryceland before the rest of the lads come down the hill on stage 4
  • 44 0
But of course! That's Marcelo's daily milk route to the shops....
  • 26 1
No surprise that Marcelo is leading so far.
  • 22 0
Stoked for Anneke, she needed this!!
  • 3 1
 GO BEER-10 !!!!!
  • 15 1
Cool for Marcelo to be repping his country in his country, I love Sam Hill but am rooting for Marcelo.

Anyone know why many of the French riders seem to have a 20 second penalty? Too many sneaky French lines?
  • 1 0
 What happened?
  • 10 0
Some riders were bunnyhopping the hay bales that were at the apex of corners. I think the penalty was 5 seconds each time they did it. Here is a rebroadcast from some live local footage.

@Iamwarthog: Too bad I didn't know about that stream, would have been great to watch it live.
  • 3 0
@Iamwarthog: Thanks for the link! Marcelo's run is at 1:44:25. Looks like WRC-style spectator madness. Were riders warned about the bale-hop penalty beforehand? Dunno how EWS rules are written--looks like a legit line choice unless they were told not to do it.
  • 3 1
 @doakwolf cause they are French?
  • 6 0
@Iamwarthog: first real live stream in EWS history and no one talks about it...
  • 3 0
@Iamwarthog: Must have been something more to it than just that. Here is Daniel Wolfe jumping numerous bales and only being docked 5 sec
  • 7 0
Borges and Wolfe got 5 seconds for jumping the hay bales. Tordo, Nicolai and Daily got 20 seconds because they were shuttling on Friday to stage 6, which wasn't allowed.
  • 1 1
@DDB1: Yeah, good point. Must have been something else than. I wonder if a few riders showed up late for their start time?
  • 1 0
@chri92: Okay, that makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the info!
  • 2 0
@phile99: It was crazy the amount of people cheering the riders!Totally agree it look like Portugal WRC maddens whit group B cars!
  • 7 0
I love how marcelo’s Lead over graves is larger than the spread between women’s top 5
  • 3 1
Normally it is the other way around, the difference between Cecile and second is often more than the spread in the Top 5 men. (no offence to the women as they will kick my ass on any trail Wink )
  • 1 0
Haha yup that’s why it caught my eye, shows how rad Marcelo’s run must have been @kusanagi72:
  • 7 0
Iago Garay, totally gratuitous wallride, in warthog's link:
  • 3 0
Next rider down the hill did the same thing! Big Grin
  • 2 0
@DDB1: an the rat was skidding throughout all the slaloms !!!
  • 5 1
I actually really like this as an opener to the race! I’m sure the locals are super stoked and it’s good for sponsors as well.
  • 6 1
The top riders got rained on so their times sucked.
  • 3 0

Graves had DNF round 1 @Tmackstab:
  • 1 0
@hyperider: But we're talking about round 2 now...
  • 11 12
its supposed to be mountain biking not urban biking
  • 2 0
@Tmackstab: He's talking about why he didn't have a top rider start time.
  • 7 7
@alejandrolz1250: I completely agree the road race is bs
  • 2 0
You’re not a real rider if you think mountains are the only cool place to ride mountain bikes.
Maybe get out of your car a bit and learn some bike control.
  • 3 0
@alejandrolz1250: some urban areas are on a mountainside. my favorite north shore trail ends in a flight of steps through a residence
  • 2 0
Amazing coverage of Colombian TV. It was the best live event I ever saw in my life related to enduro or DH. Sam Hill run was crazy whit all the people there making some real noise!!!
  • 1 0
ATTENTION PINKBIKE That is actually wrong! The winer of stage one was Jose Borges - A Portuguese rider from BG-Miranda team. He has been on the top 10-20 last year, and deserves some credit, that than being muffled by the big names in the big teams!!!
  • 3 0
Why did no one go on slicks? Is one not allowed to change? Looks like it would’ve helped.
  • 2 0
I've never seen slicks with DoubleDown or DH casing.
  • 1 0
I dont think its the point....who wants to do that anyways, its a kooky competitive advantage that favors pros.
  • 4 0
Super stoked for Anneke! Hope she kills it this season.
  • 3 0
 Marcelo the urban king
  • 2 0
The Portuguese guy beat Marcelo I thought by 0.05
  • 2 1
Pillage the earth, long live humanity!
  • 2 0
I like how there's a dude using a drone as a handheld camera at the end
  • 1 0
A tie for second! Don't see that every day
  • 1 0
None of my top 3 are in order hahaha
  • 6 6
Marcelo will definitely win this ews round.
  • 1 3
