Congrats to Brook on a solid run!!

Right?? Hes only 5 seconds behind, which is incredibly impressive after an injury like that. Looks like he hasn't skipped a beat.

How long has Trummer been practicing that track?
  • 39 0
 @Lloydmeister: a win is a win.
  • 15 0
@Lloydmeister: pretty shure he didnt. Would you drive 6-7 hours to train for crankworxs when you have the best trails in front of your doorsteps?
So there is no reason for being mad.

 Aus-TREE-a :-)

 Hilarious!!

@makripper: 100%. A win is a win. Given the reduced field here it’s not out of line with his form, a bunch of wc top tens he got last year outside of Austria

Red Bull commentary just sounds like people talking about mountain bikes with some racing on the TV in the background.
  • 20 0
I think Cam McCaul is better with freeride commentary.
  • 9 0
Exactly. Racing doesn’t disturb them much

More enjoyable then robs screaching. But then again, cock and ball torture is more enjoyable then that.

@Jaib06: Rob is the man! He's as much a part of WC racing as the racing itself. He makes it for me.

He doesn't really shout anymore now that he's on Redbull but the flip side to that is that he isn't allowed to crack one-liners anymore either.

Pinkbike you have to do a compilation vid of Rob's 1 liners!

Cam was better than having a snowboarder commentate but definitely worse than Rob! “He had a bobble, but even with those bobbles he’s putting it together...”

Eliot Jackson had great analysis and questions though, we’d have been lost without him!
  • 2 0
@excavator666: Rob is much better and more tame anymore because he actually went to learn proper commentary skills... and isn't shithouse drunk in the booth anymore.
  • 34 1
Austrians have unfair advantage, since they live in forest cities and are used to riding in the woods!

And the trees, don't forget the exploding trees.

 Article title fixed for you:

Brooke MacDonald teaches himself to ride a bike better than 99.9% of people in less than a year.

I know it's free - but it wouldn't kill them to actually get shots of DHing. The start, end and the road and bridges is just lame.
  • 9 2
To stay polite, I’ll say that this track is not particulary interesting for DH.
  • 5 2
@t1000: reminds me of the boardwalk in New Jersey
  • 13 1
I live close to the track, ride it frequently and the TV coverage is just painful to watch! The upper 2/3 of the track are interesting with some line choices and technical corners, where a lot of time can be won or lost. The new woodbridge-section with the awkwardly slow corners combined with amateurish drone flying is just bad advertising for the track, which is so much fun in the upper part!
  • 1 0
@fotofib: I’ve been there a few times last year, is that one nasty off camber corner still there or is that not part of the race track?
  • 8 0
at least they put big billboards in front of the rider so you don't have to watch them the whole time
  • 1 0
@DHhack: this is a much better Situation
  • 2 0
during the live transmission unfortunately only the lowest part of the track was shown, unfortunately the lowest part of the track is the most boring.

The winner is Brook Mac Donald. Respect to all others...

I've been waiting months for dh racing. The coverage and commentary was so bad, I fell asleep. Good thing I set an alarm for the men's xc...

There was some commentary on pinkbike about how the Austrians were smoking weed to think they could pull Crankworks off. Congrats to them (and thanks to the weather gods) for making this happen!

Great result for Vali. I think Tracey's mistake on the roots cost her the win. The rest of her run looked amazing.
