Did a Dutchman win a French Cup! Before all those french? A land without any mountains? These are weird times.......

Given how few races there are I’m surprised how few international riders there were. In road racing right now you have all the top riders packed into every race.

It is glorious... The road racing has been great. So far no COVID issues for the most part. Hopefully EWS follows suit.

I just noticed there was a Czech Cup going on at the same time that had a lot of talent in it.

Couldn't find any coverage of the race but I did locate a Course Preview courtesy of Jolanda.
Weird to see a course almost completely devoid of trees. Good for the spectators.

I mean this in a angry humor sort of way, no hate, but!!! Me either!!!!! SERIOUSLY people are pulling their hair out to find xc content or any mtb right now. What a missed opportunity. I would have missed work to watch this and i have search high and low for coverage. If there is any they did a great job of making it not accessible. I believe it is the French Cup responsibility to provide coverage for fans, riders, and sponsors. The riders and sponsors get no air time. They shouldnt hold events if they cant hit the basics. Seriously even a phone video would have worked! Its the 21st Century!!! No excuse. Line up 6 iphone owners on the track edit videos together and you are done. Why is society getting dummer when it comes to tech. Crankworx has better coverage and they did most of it from home.

@Drewsome1: Agreed. With the lack of trees on this course a couple of drones could have done a bang up job of covering the entire race.

Good to see CX vice world champion Tom Pidcock out racing some XC!

Totally, but I’m amazed how far back he was.

@jclnv: not sure how much time he lost but had a puncture first lap. Also started near the back so you also lose time not hanging with the front pack. Future WC podium status I guarantee!

@jenksy: Great ride in that case.

What am I missing here? I see Jolanda, Annie Last, Malene Degn just to name a few who are not French?

It's not French national championships, which would be limited to French riders only. It's just a race held in France open to anyone of any nationality so long as they have the appropriate UCI license.

@Ginsu2000: ...and come from a country whose people are allowed to travel to Europe...sigh

Thanks for the XCO coverage PinkBike! It's great to see Tom Pipcock start his MTB career.

Same track for men and women?
  • 5 0
In XCO format, at the international pro level men and women always race the same course, for a different number of laps in order to follow the UCI's XCO specifications for target winner's race times.
