After the flat out first four rounds of the XC World Cup, a stacked lineup of the top French XC racers come together for the 2021 National Championships. In the Elite Women's racing, Loana Lecomte continued her dominance as she took home the title after besting Pauline Ferrand Prevot by over one and a half minutes. With the Olympics closing in this will definitely put Loana as the clear favourite for the Games.

For the Elite Men, Maxime Marotte took the win by 17 seconds ahead of the current World Champion Jordan Sarrou. Check out the full results from the French XC National Championships below.

After yet another first place at Snowshoe 2021, a strange and vaguely geometric shape will appear in the sky above the podium and bathe Loana Lecomte in a shimmering blue light, almost too brilliant to look at.

"Thank you, humans," she will say with an accented giggle. "I have enjoyed your funny little bicycle competitions. Now I am off to find new adventures. Au revoir!"

And then she disappears forever, making it the fourth biggest news story of the year.

It is a surprise that anyone else bothered to turn up!

We have seen so many ups and downs recent years, so many stars that glow so bright and then dissappear.

Interesting thing about olympics is that many prefer to race a bit cleaner (I would never just say "clean" based on my experience) and this is going to show us a nice baseline to analize performances.

Olympics shows us a representation of humanity with all his lights and shadows, and that is what it is, just human beings all together.

Jordan Sarrou snapped his chain & ran to the finish.

Was he leading at the time?

@Madfella: I haven't found any video yet but considering he lost by17 seconds while running and pushing the bike I'd thinks so. It had to be damn close if not.

@Madfella: He was in the lead with Maxime Marotte, both arrived for a final sprint and Sarrou broke his chain when Marotte launched his attack, quite far from the finish line for a sprint (I would say 250-300 m).

I would love to see some US nationals coverage. I head the pro DS race was great, but I was forced to give patronage to the USAC site to learn that.

How can you even find results on the POS site? USA Cycling is a joke. Only thing noteworthy there was Kyle Strait listed no sponsors.
