Results: French XC National Championships
The results are in from this year's French National Championships with some big winning margins in both Elite categories. In the Women's racing, Lena Gerault took a huge lead of over two minutes on Loana Lecomte. The current world champion Pauline Ferrand Prevot could only manage third, over four and a half minutes back from Gerault. For the men, Jordan Sarrou pulled out close to a minute on teammate Titouan Carod and a minute and a half on third-placed Thomas Griot. Check out the full results below.

2nd. Titouan Carod: +51
3rd. Thomas Griot: +1:30
4th. Stephane Tempier: +2:02
5th. Hugo Drechou: +2:33

2nd. Loana Lecomte: +2:09
3rd. Pauline Ferrand Prevot: +4:32

Who are the top two? Why aren’t they racing world cups? PFP getting beat, even on her worse day is a big deal.

Loana Lecomte is only 21 so still in the U23 category, she did some podiums in U23 WC last year. She wants to race with the Elite in wolrd cup this year to earn her place for the Olympics. Lena Gerault is 25 so Elite for 2 or 3 years now, she was very strong in the U23 but she had some difficulties to cope with the race pace in the Elite category + she was finishing her studies.

What was the course like? Those are crazy margins...

Two big long climbs and the descents weren't very technical, the second one was a bit tricky with the dust but that's all. If you couldn't follow the leaders you had to find your own pace, that's why the gaps are so big.
