Results: Martin Maes Wins Round 2 of the Belgian Enduro Cup - Amblève

May 6, 2019
by Olivier Maes

After last week's race in Daverdisse Bart De Vocht was wearing the leader's jersey, though this week he would be facing some serious competition with Martin Maes participating. The conditions weren't ideal either, with snow in the morning and rain the rest of the day the trails were very muddy. Bart managed to win stages 1, 2 ,5 and 6 but in the end, Martin was the fastest man winning stages 3, 4 and 7.

An article by Olivier Maes, mentioning Camille Maes and Martin Maes. I didn't realize there is a clan on the Belgian mtb scene.

And he didn"t put the results of the E-Enduro :
1st Lionel Dumoulin
2nd Micucci Fabrizio
3rd Patric Maes (the father of Martin and Camille)

Haha, our name is the third most common in Belgium so it isn't that surprising. I don't race myself but I do try to ride whenever I can find the time, I mainly photograph other people riding.

Thanks for the link.I was in Houffalize this weekend and had the same weather, wasn't too bad. Omg,in the last pic of Maes it looks like he's running a 24 in the back.

Unfortunately I could only make it to the last stage. I'll do my best to cover everything next time.

Love me a bit of endurocx.

Times are close. Within 2 seconds of the big man. are these guys in EWS?
  • 2 0
I expect they're locals that's why they are so competitive, and you have to think Martin Maes is holding back to some extent in a race like this

@enduroNZ: Yes these are al locals, I do know that Bart De Vocht and Julien Soussigne have raced in Finale Ligure last year.
  • 3 0
@enduroNZ: Why? A race like what? I've raced it several times and while it might be shorter than EWS races, it's seriously technical.

That De Vocht guy is fast!

Yeah he is. He also races XC at a pretty high level.
