Tough race! Congrats to Cooper and Schurter! I hope to see Marotte winning a WC as well this year, he would deserve it, been on the podium so many times but never on top.

Yes. I thought Neff would get enough of a gap on the last descent. Credit to Langvad for staying close enough to take the sprint. She was always going to win a sprint.

And kudos to Neff for taking it to Langvad on the climbs. They both had to push the limit on their weaker sections.

@iamamodel: Exactly, both of them did an excellent damage limitation on their weaker side compared to the other. Awesome race to the very end, Lagvad’s sprint was absolutely brutal and they gave everything. Both of them are my favorites and it was great to see their epic battle.

Sprint finish decided in a photo finish. Usually means they were separated by less than the accuracy of the standard timing clock and a back up had to be used e.g. clock goes to 100th of a second but photo can go to 1000th.

I thought at first that Cooper had managed to pull it off but basically the end result came down from a better bike throw from Schurter. That was a great race to watch live.

Wow what a rookie mistake by Neff by looking behind her in last few hundred meters. That’s a perfect time for anyone behind to attack. Neff will be a force to be reckoned with when she matures and focus more. It’s also a mental sport.

It says a lot about her mindset this year, all the popularity is going to hurt her if she basks in it. Did I say she wasn’t a force to be reckoned with in the past? No. She can be that again.

If you watched the race and you know the riders then you’d know that Neff didn’t have a chance against Langvad in the sprint looking back or not... Her best chance was to make a gap on the last downhill section but she couldn’t pull it off.
Check your facts because Neff is already a force to be reckoned with....She’s a World Champion and World Cup Champion. This time Langvad was stronger as she’s always very strong in the first half of the seasons.

@btbsps: They are bike racers, not motogp bikes... You can try a 200m sprint after pushing yourself to the limit for 1h20min and see how it goes. Again, she didn't lose because she was looking back or lack of trying but Langvad was stronger and Neff had no chance in the sprint this time... Watch her sprint at the end of the short track race from Friday to see what is the difference in sprinting power between Langvad and the rest of the field at the moment.
