That young Minnaar fellow has a bright future in downhill.
  • 40 3
For sure... He just seems to have come from nowhere. Does anyone know anything about him?
  • 32 0
@Dropthedebt: Never heard of him. Maybe a local?
  • 21 0
@GOrtho: Beginners luck, just a flash in the pan he he.
  • 25 0
Loris taught him well on being sensitive to suspension setup.
  • 2 0
@GOrtho: yeah maybe get his 1st Box too

Who let the G.O.A.T out? who! who! who! who!
  • 5 0
Yeh, PB referred to 'old man' Gee Atherton yesterday but Minnaar has 3 years on him.

Tracy Hannah is flying right now! Really happy for her
  • 22 0
Three Quali's in a row now as 1! - She's got to put it all together for the run because Rachel gives everything to win.
  • 12 0

Yep, although Rach didn't pip her by much at Ft. Will, which is good to see (ie - Rach better be on her A game to win and even then it'll be tight). Full marks to my favorite rider (male or female) for continuing to up her game in this stage of her career. Trace has been so strong this year, and hopefully she'll get an elusive W tomorrow.
  • 4 1
She must have found the right tune.
  • 1 1
 Reactiv suspension>dwlink?
  • 2 0
@DONKEY-FELTCHER: I don't think it's as simple as that, but back when they first introduced the new suspension design both she and Mick picked up considerable speed. It may be butt ugly, but that bike seems to work very well.

Tracy seems to be fully dialed this season, would love to see her get a couple wins this year, if anybody deserves a win it's her and Brosnan.
  • 55 1
If there's someone that deserves a world cup, that's Tracy Hanna. Always so close, always a danger on track, got waaaaay to many injuries. Rooting for her this year!
  • 3 0
  • 4 0
She has won a couple - Schladming and Pietermaritzburg iirc.
  • 2 0
She won Ft William back in 2007 too didn't she (before she left WC racing after having placed third overall).
  • 1 0
@vinay: Tracey won Fort William in 2017, in 2007 she won at Schladming. She also won Pietermaritzberg in 2012.

So, Troy has extended his lead over Amaury by another 5pts. The battle for the mens overall is pretty exciting right now annd as much as I like the big grin of Amaury, I really would like to see Troy win the overall this time.
  • 30 2
I could see him being the first guy to win a world cup overall without winning a race all season, because he is so consistent.
  • 5 0
@Flowcheckers: I really don’t want that to happen!
I have a hard time figuring out who to cheer hardest for, but until Troy wins one he’s my guy!
  • 8 1
@Flowcheckers: Rennie won the WC overall in 2003 without winning a race.
  • 5 0
It wouldn't bother me at all if someone wins the overall without having won a single race. It implies that the races are very varied and we're seeing different winners at the different rounds at the world cup. So the winner of the overall really is someone who has proven to do well on a wide variety of tracks.
  • 2 0
@Socket: Rennie won a WC round in 2003, at Alpe d’Huez. 16 years ago to the day.
  • 1 0
@Socket: Rennie won both the World Cup overall and round #2 of the World Cup at Alpe d'Heuz in 2003.

I guess Nina will be picking up a ride for next year!

 Let's hope. Would be sick.
  • 81 2
 @MrEtnie: let's hope it's not Sick, she wouldn't have a frame.

@Dropthedebt: Allright, Hope it is then.

@neimbc got her in my Fantasy Team singe and have her seen racing in Willingen for the German DH Cup. She smoked my seeding time by 17 seconds. That girl is flying!
  • 2 0
@Dropthedebt: she'd have really cool t-shirt and snap back tho. And some stickers.

You can't call it a comeback. The goat never left. Awesome to see him flying though.

Safe to say Vali is slightly motivated? ????
  • 10 0
Agreed. If anything, her "crashing out" to 2nd place at Ft. Willy made her really want to put the pedal down to remind everyone who's the undisputed boss in jr women. Can't wait for her to continue to improve and challenge the elite ladies soon.

 @fartymarty: 4th actually.
  • 2 0
@fartymarty: it's 4th in the womens, but yes, she is fast

A lil home track advantage, perhaps?? She *is* Austrian.
  • 2 1
 @fartymarty: actually 4th ;-)
  • 85 3
I'm preparing to get downvoted into oblivion for this, but let's put that result into perspective a bit. In absence of Pom Pom and Tahnee, she managed to qualify 4th in the elite womens, on a track that's pretty much in her backyard. The day she enters the elite ranks, she will be a serious contender straight off the bat, But maybe we all should tone down our expectations for this girl and let her mature in the sport without the pressure of unrealistic expectations. She will be the future of womes DH, no doubt, but let's make sure she doesn't burn up before her time to shine is there. Don't mind me, this is just a concerned dad of a daughter speaking. Sorry for wasting everyone's time.
  • 2 2
@AllMountin: yeah, Vali knows the track inside out, she lives around the corner, less than 3 miles away
  • 2 1
@FuzzyL: sorry bad maths on my behalf.
  • 2 0
@singlespeedman: Yes, it's maybe 50 minutes with the enduro bike from Saalbach with the gondola and the ride to the top of Leogang bike park. But it's not so funny with the downhill bike. By car I guess it's about 35 to 40 minutes from Saalbach to Leogang bike park.
  • 2 1
Everyone: this track makes for the tightest racing all season!
Vali: Wins qualifying by 18 seconds.
  • 4 2
@src248: that is on a competitive class, not in junior women where there are few competitors
  • 1 0
@singlespeedman: she's also said on several interviews that she rarely rides there. Can't imagine it's anymore of an advantage than Danny Hart spending weeks at ft bill leading up to the race.
  • 2 0
@NinetySixBikes: Mannon Carpenter. I don't pretend to know all the reasons folks move on. But focusing on having fun seems to be a good strategy for keeping folks in it. Fun is fast.

Glad to see Amaury still going strong after that crash in practice, it looked gnarly!

Congrats Magnus on qualifying..dont hold back on your run tomorrow!

Rafael Villegas is starting to get better results thanhis older brother Marcelo... Just like the Masters brothers. Lets see if the trend continues and how far he will progress! Happy to have those two Colombians there in the big leagues!
  • 7 0
Minnaar in the top spot, nice one bru.
  • 6 1
Anyone notice the split times loris? First in all...think he either had an error or put the achors on to not get first. Remove the pressure a bit?
  • 5 0
That's cause Minaar it's the ultimate rider scarping the last meters...
  • 4 0
Thibaut Daprela put 2.5 seconds in on the other junior men and is only 6 off the GOAT. That's a tidy run. Kye A'hern will get em in the final though
  • 5 0
ONLY 15 SECONDs separating the top 100 men?!?!?! tight times!!

That cube bike must suck. Or the atwill skills don’t match the hype. just got in 60th.
  • 10 9
I would love to see you doing better
  • 8 2
Matt walker never seemed to do well when he was with cube, now on pivot looks like he got a good result at fort william
  • 9 2
@zyoungson: Greg Williamson had good results when he was with Cube. Its not the bike the Man had an injury and he is not on pace yet
  • 1 1
Is he racing tomorrow with that result??

It wouldn't be hard at all for them to copy and paste top 20 into the article.
  • 1 0
Is the motor way between splits 2 and 3 ? First two riders gain notable time over the rest of the field.
  • 2 1
Everyone shut up about scribd. Just go do what i did and ask your dentist for his phone and you’ll be fine.
