Kate's going to have her hands full defending those stripes! Can't wait till it kicks off.

Of the 2 Kate is much better and faster on the decent. Any sort of technical track and Kate should beat Annika 9 times out 10. For the record I like both of them.

@COnovicerider: 9/10? Last year she was about 1/10. Kate is a better descender, but that alone is usually not enough to win a race.

@HoldenJonesMTB: Exactly. The Courtney fans are going to be pretty disappointed this year I think. All the other racers were totally spent by the time Worlds rolled around last year. The Season was brutal. Where was Courtney in the World Cup? Nowhere. A number of women are faster and Neff is on a different planet to Courtney.

@jclnv: Kate raced the same season as the rest so how was she any less fatigued? Plus they all had 2 weeks to recover before Worlds which is more than enough time. I've heard your argument before from others and it just doesn't add up. She did have some luck on her side that day but luck is a part of racing.

@HoldenJonesMTB: my point is Kate will normally be faster in technical sections. Sea Otter isn't technical.

@COnovicerider: Physical fatigue is only half the game. Neff and Langvad were kicking the crap out of each other from round one. They were mentally over it. Look at Neff when she crossed the line at World Cup finals. She was totally spent. Courtney was riding around in 10th all year, zero nervous energy used.

Anyway MSA for Worlds this year so Neff will have to get 3 flats for anyone else to stand a chance for rainbows.

@jclnv: yeah I’m sure Kate’s first season in the elite women’s field was super easy for her mentally..... totally the reason she won right?

@TypicalCanadian: Yeah when your not in a 6 month hunt for the overall World Cup you're a little less stressed wouldn't you think?

I'm not saying she isn't World Class, of course she is. Is she at Neff and a few others level? No.
  • + 3
@jclnv: you're pretty funny. Can't wait to have a beer on you
  • - 2
 @Naturel: No chance!
  • + 2
@jclnv: I agree that Neff was by far the fastest throughout the World Cup season; however, World Champs is just one race and Kate won fair and square. Plus she was only 22 or 23 at the time and it was her first season in Elite.

@COnovicerider: I’ll be happy to be proved wrong.

@jclnv: by the looks of this thread I'd say you already have. Peace out.

@COnovicerider: She just got beat at Sea Otter by 1min by Langvad...
  • + 3
@jclnv: dude, we get it, you don’t like Kate. Do you hate all Americans too? We already know you hate an entire US city (Denver). See a trend here?
  • - 2
@COnovicerider: Dude, I don't hate her at all, I just don't think the hype is anywhere near justified. Also how popular would she be if she wasn't hot? Sad to say but I don't think she would be anywhere near as popular, especially on Pinkbike.

I've never been to Denver! What are you on about? In fact Colorado is the state I want to ride more than any other.

@jclnv: you're full of it dude...
"In 2017, Kate won four U23 World Cups and earned the U23 Overall World Cup victory as well as her first Elite National Championship Title. In 2018, Kate took on the Cape Epic Stage race together with her teammate Annika Langvad. The pair won seven individual stages and took the Overall team victory which marks the first time an American has won the event.

During the World Cup season, in her first year as an Elite Racer, Kate placed in the top 10 at six World Cups and finished the season in 8th place Overall. The year ended on a high note when Kate came from behind to win the 2018 Elite XC World Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. With this victory, Kate became the first American in 17 years to win an Elite MTB World Championship and only the fourth American woman to do so. "

Yep, that's overrated...

@jclnv: plus you forget that while Jolanda did very well last year, in '16 and '17 she didn't do well.

@clink83: How old was Jolanda then....

And anyway, regardless of results, Jolanda is the racers racer. It's laughable how much better she is at descending than all the other women. Which is why she'll walk the World Champs this year as she did the World Cup at MSA last year.
  • + 2
@jclnv: Kate sure looks GREAT in those World Champion Stripes...... and luckily for you, she'll wear them all year.
  • + 2
@jclnv: so you’re saying she’s popular because she’s attractive?..... Classy bro. Maybe people like her because she is fun to watch, has a good story, trains hard, has a good sense of humor, and a personality people can relate to.

Don’t discredit her by saying her popularity is due to her looks. That’s ignorant.
  • - 2
 LOL!

Gunn-Rita Dahle is the winningest women racer in MTB history. Batty has never won a World Cup. Can you tell me why the latter always gets 10x the comments?
  • + 3
@jclnv: ok so now we are on to Batty only being popular for looks too? Got it. Anyone else you want to discredit? This is good for a laugh (at your expense).
  • - 2
@TypicalCanadian: Keep virtue signalling from clownworld buddy. Reality is tough.
  • + 1
@jclnv: it’s not virtue signaling to call you a douche, everyone knows you are. Reality is that you have a creepy obsession with Neff, and like to spout off to anyone who disapproves of your stumpy evo. You wanna keep being a little prick, cool. Don’t discount the hard work other people do though. Curtis Keene is also popular FYI, and he never wins, so that goes against your BS theory.

But I enjoy your responses, since everyone gets a good laugh at what a stupid little tool you are. Later bud!
  • - 1
@TypicalCanadian: When you grow up you'll learn how the world works. For now, keep up with the social justice buddy.
  • + 3
@jclnv: not social justice at all, I just enjoy pointing out what a worthless cuck you are. Thanks for giving all of us a laugh every single time you comment. Don’t stalk Neff too hard little guy.
