Are Women more affected by wind than Men?

 Windsplaining took place!
  • 5 5
Perhaps, they usually weigh less, so easier to get blown off course?

I wouldn't exactly call Jackson Goldstone heavy, isn't he like 12 or something?

You might not like this comment, but yes- women just don’t ride as good as men ????‍♂️ But I know you can’t say obvious things these days, so have fun downproping my commentWink

Would depend on what they each ate.

@king111: Wait, so you're saying that you are faster than, lets say, Tahnee? Or Pompon? Or Nina? You must be a great rider then Smile
  • 4 1
@chmurka3rg: Noone is faster than Nina. She may not always make it the whole way, but that doesn't make it less of a fact ;-)
  • 24 4
@chmurka3rg: I don’t know king111 of have any idea of his riding capabilities but you realize that there are a good number of people on PB that are faster than the World Cup level ladies correct?

The men and women were scheduled at different times. So they might have been looking at different conditions, as winds increase/decrease with frontal passage and such. So before asking whether it's a gender thing, perhaps we might assume the more likely scenario that there were different conditions when it was time for the women's event?

@king111: Nice one buddy its a numbers game but also the TRUTH

@g-42: Ya, crazy that it took this long for someone to point that out

the winds were fucken sketch man, I nearly crashed just on the set up drop by getting cross blown heavily

@meathooker: They didn't take part in the whip-off either

@chmurka3rg: I don’t say I’m faster. But Bruni or Pierron are much faster Wink don’t compare apples with oranges. I can say I’m faster than any woman in Polish national cup, but remember I’m not the athlete training to race, so comparison is shitty anyways. I don’t say women don’t ride great. They are awesome and it’s usually as entertaining to watch as men’s field, but remember there are a differences and it’s nothing wrong to see them. I know jumping in wind was sketchy and I assume everyone that didin’t feel good enough just didn’t jump. It’s just that top level male riders were good enough to try and succeed, this time obviously none of females felt good enough with those circumstances Smile

If the women aren't comfortable sending it in the wind. Then more power to em. Would rather them smashing other events rather than put them out of your comfort zone. No matter the conditions it's still a sizeable jump and drop

Saw some video of Kaos' whips. Dude was whipping so hard the wind got sent back to where it came from.
  • 24 10
Must have been away taking advantage of the wind and put a washin out.
  • 15 2
Whoa Jackson! Beating Kaos is a feat! That dude can't ride straight.

Damn kids these days whippin’ their bikes and whatnot! Back in my day we had to whip our bikes the whole way to school, uphill in the snow both ways.

Congrats to Jackson for killin’ it!

Jackson killed it tonight with Kaos and Billy very close overall. Comp ended abruptly after one athlete had a bad landing and was hurt. Hopefully he is doing okay. Winds were quite high and even some guys pulled out after 1 or 2 jumps.

  • 1 0
Is popularity/crowd reaction one of the voting criterias? Or is it purely based on the whip?
  • 2 3
Jackson is still young and already winning over the guys that have been riding for a long time.
