Nukeproof at the Mega

July has come around quick! The month that sees the Nukeproof office escape from our office and decamps to the Alps for a week, more specifically; Alp D'Huez, the home of the infamous Megavalanche. For 2017 we are proud to be supporting the Megavalanche as the official bike sponsor. The race that has been a huge part of Nukeproof's history and the inspiration behind developing our all mountain bike; The Mega.

Nukeproof

As well as our small staff team (Ali, Michael, and Rob) we will be joined by a few friends:

We're stoked to announce our lead "Enduroist" and legend Sam Hill will be joining us for his first assault on the Mega. It's a race he has wanted to cross off his bucket list for some time, so look out for Sam and his flat pedal shod Nukeproof shredding the slopes. Currently sitting second in the EWS overall standing on his Nukeproof, he will be heading there straight from Round 5 in France. If you're there and want to meet and ride with Sam join us for a Mega ride to Oz on Friday at 3pm (meet at the bottom of the DMC lift station and ride the lower part of the Mega race track). We will be joined by a host of other athletes too.

Joining Sam will be CRC-Mavic Team Manager Nigel Page. He didn't need any convincing to get back to his roots of bar-to-bar racing and will be competing in his second Mega after a few years away.

na

We will also be joined by Finnish legend, Nukeproof- Mavic and Red Bull athlete Matti Lehikoinen, returning after last year for another shot at the race (subject to baby Lehikoinen—congratulations Matti and Nina)

Jackson Davis will be bringing the signature Vanzac "culture" to the Alp D'Huez trails (Please join us to help celebrate his 21st). Team Wideopen- Nukeproof will be bringing a mix of youth and experience to the mix on their Mega's. EWS regulars Kelan Grant and Chris Hutchens will be joined by the youths Chris Cumming and Morgan Tyrrell.
there are events on all week:

• Any Nukeproof rider stops past our tent in the main expo area to grab a free Mega tee. We also have a limited amount of Nukeproof spares to keep you rolling during the race.

Mega train to Oz: Friday at 3pm, Ride with the full Nukeproof team from the first stop on the DMC lift to Oz. Meet at the bottom of the DMC lift station at 3pm sharp—just look out for the Nukeproof and say hello!

• Friday evening stop past the tent in the expo area for your chance to win some swag

• Tag #Mega2017 yourself in any Megavalanche photos for your chance to win one of three Mega swag bags.

See you on the mountain.

@Jamesb15uk: Been there, busted myself last year before a Morzine trip and although I made it I had to limp round on a new bike I had just built but not ridden....still enjoyed being up in the mountains though and spurred me to try La Thuile and some other stuff in the Alpes in August.

@Travel66: I'm normally pretty careful, only hit stuff when I know I can do it. Completely underestimated an easy DH run id not done for a couple years and there was a new large feature I didn't know about. So easy to go too fast down something which you *know* is really easy. Furious with myself. Ive got my first trip to Whistler in 4 weeks as well! Was supposed to be summer of a lifetime :/ I just hope I can get this cast off so I can at least ride gentle.

@Jamesb15uk: Come over to the tent Friday or if you see us shout and we will sort you a free tee! Can't make your wrist better, but we can give you free stuff to lessen the pain Smile

@Jamesb15uk: Kinda in the same boat as you, though not going to Mega, but I shattered my heel bone on my first day in Åre bike park, and I'm supposed to wear this damn cast until mid august.
Probably missing out on an amazing bike festival because of this, might be able to get back on the bike for some really careful riding by then, but it's a big if...
