Revelstoke, BC, often imitated, never duplicated. The sense of place here is as deep and dark, as the woods that hold the coveted, brown, wiggly-worm of singletrack!

Revelstoke
This past labour day weekend, 307 riders gathered in what is likely being hailed as a true, mountain bike destination. #TheRealStoke isn't a joke, where else can you find a plethora of heli-biking options courtesy of Wandering Wheels, more alpine adventures than Edward Fuez could shake stick at, and a community that is bolstered by a relentless love for play over work, every day.

Riders were extremely fortunate that torrential rains of Thursday and Friday were kept a bay for this two-day race! Not to mention that on Friday, Wandering Wheels was out in full-force, shuttling riders up the road so that they could preview the course without having to ride the 800m climb every lap. One rider remarked that the trails on Boulder Mountain combined with shuttles from Wandering Wheels, is almost the same as "Dipping and Oreo into a jar of Peanut Butter", not quite sure what he meant....

Anyways, Round #3 of the Osprey Canadian National Enduro presented by NOBL Wheels, was hosted by Wandering Wheels and supported by Tourism Revelstoke, so read on for more information about what could be hailed as the TOUGHEST ENDURO COURSE of the season, 40kms and over 2000m of climbing!

This was a two-day race, with one-stage being held at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, two-day events sure take it's toll on bikes and bodies

Revelstoke is small community located on the banks of the Columbia River, it's long been thought of as an industry based town and in the past decade has transitioned into a recreational paradise and a place to not only view the sights and sounds but to live, breathe and feel them at your fingertips! This has been done through a steadfast team of dedicated locals who don't mind sharing their hard-work with an ever increasing number of amenity migrants and tourists looking to 'live the dream' for an afternoon or two.

This race we donated more than $2000 back into the local trails if you'd like to make a donation to the trail's you can do it via the Trailforks Trail Karma

I really want to recognize those who are involved in all the communities that welcome us, as they truly are the backbone of riding, they selflessly build trails, attend city council meetings, work with other groups and businesses and volunteer their time to making riding a unique experience.

So with that, hat's off to the
Revelstoke Cycling Association, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, La Baguette, Glacier House Resort, Tantrum Bike Shop, Taco Club, City of Revelstoke and in no specific order the following people for all of their help!

Local bike shop Tantrum, put together $150 for the fastest local, Cookie, took the prize, but deferred it to Steve Scott, how Canadian is that!

Canadian National Enduro
The goal of the Canadian National Enduro is to bring a more competitive, technical and prestigious Enduro Series. Ultimately, giving Canadian riders a stepping stone to the world-stage. This year we have partnered up with the GAAP Enduro in Quebec, to host the second round of the series. We've already begun planning for 2017 with events in Ontario, Quebec and ???.

As the series gains traction, we will continue to bring you to the best trails across the country, to truly crown the best rider in Canada. The BC Enduro Series will still remain as a great way to explore, race and have an adventure with your buddies on the best single-track in BC.

So how does the Canadian National Enduro Series work?
-Four events total, you must do x2 to qualify for the overall, Sun Peaks (Finale) is a bonus points round.
-Pro Men and Pro Women Categories pay cash!
-The Canadian National Enduro Events, currently utilize existing BC Enduro Series locations, as such, the events are combined with the BCES points, so racers entered in the BC Enduro Series (East or West) will get points for the respective series (Each series allows you to drop X1 race if you do them all)

I'd like to thank all of our sponsors and communities for joining us in this new venture, your support, understanding and collaboration make riding bikes fun!
We're looking to start something great here, so if you're looking to get involved in a positive, fun environment, feel free to inquire - admin@bcenduro.com

These folks need a big thanks! Our Volunteer Team - The lady on the right in the purple is Heather, she's our Volunteer of the Year. She is at the Registration Table at 6AM and pours Beer until 6PM, all while ensuring her two sons and husband stay safe on the trails!

Yup, that's the new 'Mini Maiden' aka the Slayer

The Course!
Day 1 was a 'Hidden Stage', although I'm sure someone will post it in the comments.
Day 1's stage, 'Stage X', was old school, riders were not allowed to pre-ride this stage, yes it was a local's advantage for this one!
Day 2, took place on Boulder Mountain, and although it poured rain leading up to the race, the riders were treated to near perfect trail conditions for race day on Sunday, a cool, moist day for 2000+ metres of descending!

The beauty of racing Enduro is it brings you to unique places, to do abnormal things, it's always a treat when the clouds part and you're left with a glimpse of the snowline.

Let's Get to RACING

DAY UNO

Day 1 was a hidden stage...No pre-riding, just riding hard, blind on some old-school tech-noir

Images from the Revelstoke Osprey Canadian National Enduro presented by NOBL
Day 1, Riders were forced to ride this ride this stage blind, no pre-riding allowed. That doesn't seem to mind Jeremy Helly from Kamloops, as he pins his 26" Wheeled Giant through the rocks!

Revelstoke Mountain Resort was at the bottom of the trail, in no time they'll have a bike park, but for now, you'll have a fun riding the Pipe Coaster!

Fall has already started in Revelstoke, the dirt is tacky and the trees will be changing in no time

U15 Rider Jonathan Helly, it's hard to believe that in this week's race, the top three U15 and U21 would have been Top Ten in Pro Men...

Day 2 was a full on Enduro!

Nick Quinn, he's a seasoned vet of the Enduro Series, but couldn't quite pull it together for a podium spot. Rumour has it he had a run-in with a tough stake early in the day...

The ladies class has been crushing it, their times are quickly matching those of their male counterparts.

This course was one of the fastest and steepest of the series. But just wait until Sun Peaks - Evan Wall, riding Full Gas!

Remi Gauvin, making his appearance well known, riding the new Slayer and well, slaying it!

Logan crushing it somewhere on course. He timed into a stage, and busted a kickflip before dropping in! Pure style!

There's a reason why Leonie is the fastest girl on the circuit. Guns, and not afraid to go fast!

Once again I'm reminded that pictures/videos don't do justice to the difficulty of a trail. The Crowbar footage captured some of it, but Boondocker didn't even look that muddy!
