PRESS RELEASE: Ride Concepts

It’s a fact, trails don’t build themselves. Concurrently, trail networks with well-served access are an essential recreational resource and a foundation of the mountain bike community. It’s our turn to recognize and support the tireless efforts of non-profit trail alliances across North America. This is why we created the Dig To Ride Fund, an annual fund dedicated to supporting trail building projects. We have chosen to dedicate our 2022 Dig To Ride Fund to the Tillamook Off-Road Trail Alliance (TORTA) in Tillamook County, Oregon.

The Dig To Ride Fund is a dedicated donation where $3 of all North American wholesale and direct sales of our TNT shoe is pooled annually. TNT is our workhorse gravity and trail building flat shoe. TNT meets the tough demands of all-season, all-day digging and works even harder when it’s time to session the new builds. TNT is burly through and through with a microfiber upper for durability and performance in all conditions, D3O® impact protection in the medial collar to ward off unexpected crank-side encounters and a robust, custom-molded toe cap and heel run defense fore to aft. The MAX GRIP rubber outsole features a recessed area on the toe and heel for traction while hiking and digging. The generously sized hook and loop Powerstrap tops it off for a final sense of security.

Our partnership with TORTA in 2022 was natural and spawned from Biketown - a film by Freehub magazine. We were moved by the organization’s passion and dedication to world class mountain biking trails on the Oregon coast. The non-profit has developed a strategic master plan to create a system of trails for community enhancement in and around the Pacific City area. Our Dig To Ride Fund will benefit the Buzzard Butte Trail Network, a 35 mile year-round contemporary singletrack project, and the Nestucca Valley Elementary School skills park, an all-levels skills development project at a local public school. Our donation will be made at the end of the year once we have maximized sales of the TNT shoe.

TNT is the shoe that builds trails, quite literally, and now your purchase contributes to our Dig To Ride Fund, benefiting two new trail projects in Tillamook County, Oregon.

If i can get an estimated dig time i’ll buy 2. Seriously seems like the red tape in Oregon is like Shelob’s web. This carrot has been dangling pre covid.

It says they’re operating within a masterplan, assumably already accepted by county/state. They’ve probably been working the bureaucracy and planning end of this for years so why wouldn’t it materialize? It’s not very hard to build legal trails in OR, just have to be patient and do things correctly.

We totally understand your frustration Dangerhill. COVID unfortunately made the NEPA process slow to a standstill. Our partners had a lot of change off and it caused some massive delays. Good new is there should be a velo solutions pump track on the next in end of 2023 along with a skills area built by our local legend trail builder. Good things will happen, the TORTA board is committed to seeing a trail system happen in Tillamook county.

Good on you guys for not giving up. It seems like Oregon bureaucracy takes the slowest path.
NEPA? =not exactly processing anything ……

THE GOVERMENT: “ Your taxes better be done by April 15th or else!”

TAXPAYING Mtber : When do you guys think you can sign those papers ,so we can build trails on OUR land, that the public is willing to pay for?.

THE GOVERNMENT: that should only be a decade or 2.
