Brett Tippie and Rob Warner catch up for some colorful commentary at the UCI World Championships here at Mont Saint Anne, Quebec.
In 1996 Rob Warner became the first ever British rider to win a round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup taking a historic win at Kaprun in Austria. He also became the UK National Champion in 1997, 1998 and finally in 2001. Nowadays we find him online doing commentary for all the World Cup Downhill events.
I got to spent a day riding Esher Pump Track with Warner recently for an MBUK magazine article, and found him very funny, original and great to hang out with
rob isnt one who needs to name drop dude. and warner is exactly as rob said; funny, original and great to hang out with. i too have had a few chances to ride with warner and also enjoy a few drinks in his company. he is a true legend.
Ya dude he had me on the edge of my seat last weekend with his commentary, awesome awesome announcer. Gave me chills when Peaty was ahead at the splits and Warner was freaking out, so exciting.
Haha, Warner rocks... but the first time I ever was listening to him, I thought whos this loud mouth mofo... shut up already... but then I got more in to watching the races, and slowly that lyapping grew on me. Might have been the third or 4th race and the first time I heard him say "hey cedric, can you hold my f**ing beer, man, I gotta go take a piss like a firehydrant ready to bust a valve" or something like that... dude is a classic.
I love the way he just fucks off and goes for a piss whenever he feels like it and leaves his GUESTS to commentate the show! Brilliant. Makes watching an exciting wc even more entertaining. I hope it lasts.
Tippie just need to have more air time to be more natural.
Great job to Pinkbike and Tippie. And now please change places. A Tippie interview would be nice!
Some of the crankworx interviews he did were ruined by his incessant talking and attempts at being funny. This one wasn't terrible, but he just annoys me. haha
I find people bitching and complaining when someones giving you an insight into whats going on annoying. I'm sure you could all do much better - oh and land all the interviews with people too. Go Tippie, Go Pinkbike - Thanks for giving us this coverage.
Warner is the man, always makes the world cup even more intense to watch, plus with all his funny sidecracks on everything. I think he should be commentating crankworx, he'd really liven it up.
