Last week was RockShox's ride camp in Durango, Colorado and Taylor Sage was on hand to capture RockShox riders Brandon Semenuk and Rene Wildhaber in action.
I know a lot of people who consider Colorado as one of the best places to ride but personally I never liked it as much as the wetter more densly forrested areas. What is funny is that I like the videos of the Pacific NW, Canada, UK, etc and subsequently it occured to me that I enjoy these videos based on how much I would enjoy being in their pedals.
So you know about all the trails in Colorado!? Sounds like you aren't ever gonna find the goods with that attitude. There are epic conditions all around the globe.
Iberian, must not have ridden a whole lot of Colorado. There are quite a lot of trails in densely forested areas... Its not all high desert stuff. but, to each their own - I'd love to check out the PNW...
dude, having lived in DGO, it's a sick town. The trails are everywhere, and super easy to get to. it's a high Alpine town, 6500 ft. yeah, there are some sandy splotches, but it's a sick place to ride. you can't diss it, every place has unique riding: BC, UK, Cali, East Coast, CO, where ever... not everyone can ride everywhere. That doesn't mean it's not cool... and if you like the wetter areas, all you have to do is ride in the winter time in dgo.
What isaacsx said: for sure! I live in Durango now (well, just outside in Bayfield now). There are few other places to live with such easy access to world class riding of all types. I've ridden the trails - well, I RIDE the trails featured in both vids, and they ARE a blast (but hardly definitive of ALL DGO has to offer.) I have a pov of the trail Rene was riding here: www.pinkbike.com/video/137929
I wonder if Iberian has ever actually ridden CO, or if its just an opinion based on video he's watched... But again, to each their own, nobody HAS to like Colorado
Colorado is definitely a SICK place to ride.... maybe not best in the world but there are for sure some densely forested areas to ride you just have to know where to go
BTW, the trail that Semenuk's on looks fun.
